Author's Response: It's sad it took this, but I knew when I wrote Aaron the way I did that his purpose would be to finally bridge the gap between Nick and Jane. It's tragic it took that, but I felt nothing else would do it. I feel bad for Nick too, writing his breakdown was really hard, actually. Thanks MA :)

I can't believe that Aaron died, that's so sad. What a way to go. I wish that Nick would be able to see that it's not his fault. He tried his best to help Aaron, but if Aaron couldn't open his eyes and try to help himself, there wasn't much else Nick could have done. I liked the conversation between AJ and Nick and how they were the only ones that understood Aaron's issues. Great chapter as always, Rose. I love the way that you write.The tone of this story works so well, I get sucked in to every chapter.
Author's Response: I know, I'm pretty mean, but I hope it didn't come too out of left field. I agree about Nick, but I feel like it wouldn't be Nick if the guilt wasn't there. As backwards as the logic is, I could see Nick blaming himself for this. I'm glad you liked the convo between Nick and AJ, I couldn't see it being anyone but those two just because they've both been there to some extent. Thank you!

Aww... even though I know you laughed through this chapter, and I laughed at part of it, too, you did a nice job at making it sad through Nick's feelings of guilty and his memories of Aaron as a little kid. Though I did crack up when he was looking up at the sky and yelling for Aaron to answer him... I totally got this vision of Aaron's head appearing in the clouds like Mufasa and going, "Remember..." (LOL It's funny because NMN can't remember! =P) I loved the chapter, ZDR; it was so intense of you to kill Aaron, but that's what makes you so bright and so vivid! I bet Nick wishes he could put his spacesuit on, so he can jump into his rocket...

We laugh cause we have a really twisted sense of humor, which I was fighting to keep OUT of the chapter lmao. So thank you. LMFAO you know this already but that image of Mufasa Aaron is epic. LMAO you killed Aaron! Wow, I should probably strike that and be alittle more sad. so um.... Oh noes, you killed Aaron. That was so heartbreakingly sad. I was glad I was able to read the rest through all the tears I was shedding. Great job with Nick's emotions. Like the poor guy doesn't have enought to deal with already, you go and kill his brother. Aw, this was really sad. Nick (and the family) are going through so much and now this. I hate that he feels guilty, always willin to give him chances. The part where he's remembering Aaron is really sad, but I loved how you distinguished between Aaron the little kid and Aaron the bitter young man. Although I lol'd at the Brotherly Laundry reference!
Loved the Nizzle (Ajick?) moment at the end. I'm glad that he went out there to find him and loved the addiction connections they were making. I hope that they can help Nick heal through this.

I feel bad that Nick feels guilty, but there's plenty of reason to see why he does, even if he shouldn't. I felt I needed to show "good Aaron" and "bad Aaron" as they would be two very different people. Yay! Someone caught Brotherly Laundry! LMAO that's one of my fave HOC moments. I also like the name Nizzle for Nick and AJ haha. Of anyone, AJ would be the one who really understood Nick the best right then, so I knew it had to be him. Thanks Sel!

:( ........................How sad, so ironic what Nick said to Aaron in his will and now he's dead. Of course Nick's gonna feel guilty. I'm scared that he'll get so stressed out that his Alzheimer's will get worse faster.

:( Thanks again for making me cry for two chapters in a row! As much as I can't stand Aaron, this made me bawl. Especially when Nick cried and the girls followed. I kind of saw it coming though....he was headed in that direction. Honestly I can see this happening in real life too and its so sad to see it. Nick and AJ knew what he was going through but he did not accept help, so its his own fault. Loved the chapter and loving all the updates, glad to see Bob is alive and kicking :) great chapter!
