I enjoyed this chapter. The anticipation of the meeting and then the actual meeting itself. What made you decide on the German doctor and accent? That was German, right? Lol I enjoyed reading all the vell vhen's lol and how on earth do you keep all these doctor names straight? Of course I also loved having Kevin show up. I love me some tell it like it is Kevin! He should have been Nick's nurse lol
Author's Response: Thanks! LOL I went with the German doctor for the same reason I did the "Dr. Submarine" thing - comic relief. I knew this chapter was gonna be heavy on the medical talk, so I figured that would be a way to lighten it up a little and keep the people who don't care to read all of that entertained. I'm glad you enjoyed the accent and weren't annoyed be it. I could see it getting annoying! His name means platypus in German LOL. I was apparently in a silly mood and not a serious mood when I wrote this, even though the content is serious LOL. It was nice to include Kevin! It took so long for him to make it into the story, I was happy to use him wherever it seemed logical for the second half. Thanks, Mare!

I loved Nick's thoughts on the stars & how his mind was still going to thoughts about his death. That's probably what it's like to be a cancer survivor. As much as you want to feel completely free of the disease, there's always that fear it might come back.

Aww that chapter was so sad. Nick reflecting on his life & that he was possibly saying goodbye to the fans. That chapter would have made a great last chapter, but yes, like you said in one of your replies to me, You like the long novels lol I'm glad he got to finish this leg of the tour!
Author's Response: Wow, two chapters today! Thanks! This could have made a good last chapter... LOL and after you read the real ending, you'll probably wish it was! I dunno why I always feel the need to tell the WHOLE story, but I do. I like the real ending, but it would have been a much different story if I'd just stopped it here LOL. It's funny that I never even considered that, though, because when I went back to look at what chapter this was and saw my author's note, I realized this was the first chapter I wrote after finding out about my friend Lisa's cancer. I probably could have lessened the angst in my life by just slapping a "The End" on it and calling it done right then. LOL Anyway, thanks for the bonus review!! :)

I loved the fact that they all decided to stay on one bus together & that Brian chose to watch the spinal tap. I'm so glad that he finally told the guys and like Cary said, he has his brothers, no need for her to be there any longer. Great job describing the details the tap. I felt like I was watching it! Onto the next chapter :)

I think the anger was his way of dealing with something he didn't know how to deal with otherwise, but I do think it was justified too, and yeah, it was nice having someone call Cary out on all this bullshit LOL. Yay!!!!! Nicely done. I'm so glad he finally told them. I admit, for just a second I was afraid when AJ accused him of getting Cary pregnant, he would be too pissed to let them know. I am SO glad, you didn't go down that road. Now that they know I'm really looking forward to seeing how things will go since you mentioned not covering the second leg, there's no need for Cary anymore so curious to see how that plays out as well. You did a great job with all their reactions to the news. They weren't overly distraught and didn't ask him a million questions because he's Nick. He can't even pronounce his doctor's name lmao AJ being that angry took me by surprise, but I can easily see him reacting in that way. Woot!

Okay I'm attempting to leave you this epically long review once more but this time I'm being smart and writing it up in an email so this way if it doesn't post, I can just mail this to you! There were so many emotions going on in this chapter but of course my anger at the characters was outweighing that! I have been so consumed in Nick and Cary hiding this secret for half this story now that instead of giving you reviews about how beautifully some things are written and described, all I'm doing is complaining! Like last chapter, I missed my opportunity to tell you how much I loved the confrontation the guys had with Nick and how well I could really see that little intervention play out in my head. This one was really no different. At the beginning particularly with your description about how he was so exhausted even brushing his teeth was an effort. I felt tired just even thinking about it. And of course, just as soon as he's going to give in and tell the guys it's Cary that spoils it! Even so, my favorite part was the whole vampire thing! I loved the not sparkly line lmao Now that he's finally going to tell the guys, i'm looking forward to being able to sit back and enjoy the beauty that is your writing instead of every chapter saying, "Again? Still not saying anything?" It reminds me of reading Swollen Issues. I felt like that entire story instead of focusing on the story I kept saying really? Just tell them already!! I almost clicked on the next chapter but I was SO afraid that it was going to end in him not saying anything that I didn't. I still might at some point today because of course I really want to know how it plays out but then it also gives me something to look forward to as well! Anyway now that I am officially at the halfway point just wanted to commend you on a great story so far! Can't wait to see how the second half pans out with everyone knowing his secret! HOPEFULLY! I'll write up that survey today too as long as AC will let me! :O) See? I lost two of these already!
Author's Response: LOL Well thanks for the epically long review! I have to admit, I was actually kind of relieved when I saw the short one because I was expecting a whole rant about Cary for this chapter because of what an enabler she is in it! In real life, this was the soundcheck that Nick missed because Lauren was supposedly sick and he had to take her to the hospital, so I knew all along that I was going to exploit that in this story, switching Lauren with Cary. If I'm being honest, that's also the real reason it's taken him SO long to decide to tell the guys the truth. Hopefully your anger will fade after the next chapter LOL. Thanks so much for the compliments on the descriptions and that scene of the guys staging an intervention in the last chapter and the sparkly vampire line. I'm glad you liked those parts!
