That's Nick for ya...Odd..but cute.  LOL!  Stubborn fool...but I completely get where he's coming from.  I love the interaction between Nick and Cary.  Her, fangirling out in her head.  She's covering it much better than I would..hehe.  I can't wait for her to meet AJ...and the rest of the fellas.  Great chapter! Can't wait for the next!!

Great chap, Julie. I love the ending and how it connected to how she found him that morning. It was really cute. One of my favorite parts too was when she was too scared to do the spinal and was thinking about MJ's doc. I can only imagine how scared she must be. The disussion they had about it seemed so real too because I know if I were put in a position like that, I would be freaking out. I also like how you talk about her being a fan...that's very interesting because I imagine how weird it would be to be treating him. Thanks for another great update :)

She wants to help, yet is afraid to help, and the fact that she's a fan and cares about him that way just makes it even more complicated for her. Awww that was cute. Nick tends to trust people quickly doesn't he? They seem to have quite a bit in common. Nick is cute when he is sleeping, I liked the description of that. Nick is so stubborn but I think he does like Cary. Great chapter! :D

Nick's probably wary of trusting people that quickly in real life because he's gotten screwed by so many girls before, but my thought was that in this case, in order for his plan to work, he pretty much HAD to put his trust in one person, and he had a good feeling about Cary, that she wouldn't screw him over because she's a nurse and a fan, and she's getting something out of helping him, too, so if she screws him over, she screws over her own shot at a music career too. Hehe, I love to describe Nick sleeping - I've seen pictures of him sleeping that way, and it's so cute! Thanks so much! :)

Author's Response: LMAO I know; I love the pictures of him sleeping that way! I can't sleep on my back at all, so I always think it's so weird that he sleeps like that LOL. Even if I'm trying to sleep sitting up, like on a plane or something, I have to curl over and lean my head on something. He is a moron, but a lovable one indeed! She is so good for him. For once someone isn't using him to further their career. It is an honest exchange. But from what I have read it seems to me that she likes caring for people more than singing. I know this sounds cheesy but I hope they fall in love so before he dies he can know an honest real love. Keep up the excellent work. I have a feeling the end of this story will have me reaching for a whole box of cleanex.

I see Cary as a realist; she has some musical talent and loves to sing, but she's not the type of girl who went out to LA to try and make it into the biz because she never believed it would happen, so she went to school and got a regular job that she enjoys. The singing is just something she likes to do that she never thought would amount to anything, until she fell into this whole American Idol and now opening act gig. So I think what you said is true.
