Author's Response: Thanks! LOL yeah, I figured very few people would know who Luke is - even Idol watchers probably wouldn't remember him, since he didn't make the top 12. But I did follow his blog about his treatment for Hodgkin's, and I remembered that he hadn't lost his hair from chemo, so that was good inspiration for Nick still managing to have hair after 6 weeks. LOL I love Backstreet's Back, but yeah, it has some awesomely bad, cheesy songs on it too - it was fun to work those in the story! LOL Glad you liked! Thanks, Sel! :)

This was cute. I thought Nick had problems eating ice cream, I read somewhere he was lactose intolerant. I could be wrong lol. But I did enjoy Cary and Nick's interactions with one another. Nick worrying about losing his hair was an awww moment for me hehe. It seems that Cary is starting to get used to her job and is learning to push the fan in her away. Awesome chapter!

I've never heard that about Nick being lactose intolerant (I think I've heard it about Aaron, though - not sure if it's true or not, but maybe that's what you were thinking of?). He seems to love ice cream! Doesn't mean he's not still lactose intolerant though LOL, who knows. I'm glad you liked their interactions with each other; this chapter was a good one for that. I've also read somewhere about cold stopping the hair falling out, but it didn't work for my mother in law.
Great chapter! I think I'd try anything to keep my hair too. And I hadn't even given it a thought that Cary would tell anyone, it's just not something you'd broadcast is it! She doesn't seem the kind of fan to do anything like that either. I bet they do go on places like LiveDaily to see what the fans are saying.
I can imagine Kevin catching him when he tried to shave his eyebrows off, lol.
Author's Response: I had never heard that before, but came across it in my research... it sounded a bit far-fetched at first, but then I found out about these cold cap things you wear during chemo, and if you use them right, they have an 85% success rate! I guess they're mostly used in the UK and haven't made it over here to the States as much yet - I don't know why!! Seems like they actually do work for most people. They also look like a lot of effort; you have to have multiple caps and change them every half hour and wear them an hour before chemo and several hours after... so I don't think that's gonna work for Nick LOL. But if you were really desperate to keep your hair, there's a way that might work. That's too bad the cold didn't work for your mother in low, though. i think he pushes all the thoughts about HOW dangerous his sickness is and HOW important it is, to take a step backward and have support from people who loves him aside... maybe when he tells everybody, it will be REALLY true..so he can deny it still...

And I think Nick could rock the fanny pack... you know if he wore one, fans would make fun of him but still think it was cute! I'm sure the guys would never let him live it down, if they didn't know what it was for. LOL I do think he's sort of in denial about the whole thing, too. Nemo is my favorite Pixar movie by far, and yes, Ellen DeGeneres is Dory! :) Thanks again for the review!!

Very nice. But Cary seems to be attracted to him somewhat....I feel bad for her cause he is a patient but she is a fan as well. Its going to be difficult for her, I can sense that because she is attatched already. Can't wait for more!

I think she made the right decision. They need each other and he needs someone that knows about his illness so he doesn't feel all alone. That is the worst thing. I have a feeling her singing will take a backseat to her nursing when it comes to him. Keep up the awesome work.

That's why I made her a fan along with the singer/nurse combo; I think only someone who really "loved" Nick like that would be willing to go along with his crazy scheme LOL.
