This was the perfect ending to one of the best stories ever written. Things were wrapped up and she found happiness plus part of Nick did live on. The way you wrote the characters brought real life to them and drew us in so we couldn't help but keep on reading. All I can say is absolute perfection and thank you for sharing it with us. Author's Response: Thank you, Marguerite! I love happy endings, so even though this didn't end "happily ever after," I tried to make the ending at least bittersweet. It was important to me to give Cary happiness, after all the pain she had to go through with Nick. And I'm glad the baby thing panned out, too; it's nice to think there's still a little part of Nick left in the world. OMG!!! I cried throughout this whole chapter. So personal and sad. Cary kept her professionalism but loved him enough to let him go. He seemed to be at peace which is what he deserved. AJ's reaction is probably how I would be. The vivid description was chilling but enlightening. You have an astounding talent for drawing your readers in that you should share with the world. This will forever remain one of my all time favorite stories ever written. Bless you for sharing it with us.

Author's Response: It would be so hard to let him go, but they knew there was nothing else anyone could do. Even if they tried to keep him alive, he would just die another day soon, if not that day. Oh this was the saddest one yet but so beautiful towards he end. The way you described how Nick was feeling and his reactions to the others was heartbreaking. I swear if I didn't know better that you were there with him really experiencing it with him. Like i have said before this is the only sad story i have ever looked forward to reading. Personally I think you should publish it. Simply perfection.

Okay so I am still crying. I am at work and my manager is asking me if I am okay...but you don't want to hear that. This is a beautifully written story, I know I tell you all the time but I also don't normally read this type of fanfic. I gave it a chance because I liked you as a writer and you have really blown me away with the way you wrote the characters. Nick especially, he is so strong yet stays himself and has weak moments too. Cary is a strong female character with many dimensions, something you don't see often in fanfic. I loved the way you tied everything in together, especially at the end with Charlotte's Web...I absolutely adored it. I am willing to go and read Broken now lol. Great job, this was an amazing story.

I know this kind of story isn't for everyone. I love a good tearjerker, but not everyone does, so thank you for giving it a chance and reading until the end, even knowing it was going to be sad. Thanks for the compliments on the characters; that means a lot, especially since this is one of the only novels I've written in first person. I tried to tie things together and make the last chapter uplifting, not as sad as it could have been. I hope you like Broken if you ever get around to reading it. It has its moments, but it's not as sad as this one LOL. It's not as well-written either, but in some ways, I still like it more than this one. Such a wonderful thing for Nick to do, and for the guys to help out too is just lovely.
This was so sad though, when he said 'thank you for loving me' it brought a lump to my throat.
Can't believe it's nearly the end, better get those tissues ready!

This is a great chapter, Julie! Very well written... it seems like you are preparing us for what will happen on the next chapter. This is a sad chapter but I managed to read it without tears in my eyes, and kinda prepared me to what I fear most... Nick's death. Amazing job!

I really love the idea of a music camp for kids with cancer. Nick is being so selfless...I love how he aplogized for calling Cary in the first place too, he doesn't want her to mourn him and I think that is sweet. Charlotte's Web is a huge favorite of mine and I liked how you made the correlation with Charlotte and Nick. Very nice job and can't wait for the next update :)

I thought of the Charlotte's Web thing early on, when I gave Cary the pet pig, so I was glad to be able to use it in the end. Thanks so much for the review, as always; I'm glad you liked it! :)
