I feel quite sorry for Cary at times. She loves Nick and has given up a lot to be with him, yet he doesn't feel the same way about her. I know he's had a lot to deal with and a relationship isn't exactly high on his agenda though.

Nick can't help how he feels or doesn't feel, and you're right; a relationship probably isn't something he really wants to commit to right now either. I think he likes her company, but he wants that without all the pressure of putting a label on it. Yet, like you said, Cary has changed her whole life to be there for him, and she's doing this all for a guy who doesn't love her the same way. Awkward LOL. Thanks for the review!!

Awwwww. Nick is a total sweetheart but at the same time I'd like to kick him for not answering when Cary said the three magic words. I am glad he showed her a good time for valentines day...and I can't get the image of him in a suit out of my head...YUM!! Loved the update :)

I feel like this is the end. Cary knows what Nick feels like, concerning his feelings towards her. Cary kinda feels the same (well ok she loves him, he likes her). They got the romance back and his health is getting better....happy ending or not? ;)

I am glad he and Cary had the talk because at least now it is clear what they want. I knew Nick wasn't in love yet...he is scared to commit due to his cancer. Cary is afraid to get attached to him as well. I hope things work out for the two of them. I also liked the old man stuff, made me laugh. Great update!!!

Nick's an asshole, plain and simple. I mean I like how you write him, it's realistic. And with our chat the other night, I kneeeew this coming but it still annoys me. He knows he's using her, and leading her on, and yet he does it! I wanna smack him. Yes Nick it's hard dealing alone, but you basically asked her to leave her life behind to be with you and you KNOW you're not in love with her. She's always been blinded, first by who he was, and then by her feelings for him. He knows it and he uses it. Again, I wanna smack him lol.
At least he knows he's an asshole... LOL. I gotta give him that. Lovely chapter ZDR.
Author's Response: Thanks, ZDR! Yes, yes he is LOL. He's a douche. I think he has every right to be self-centered, to an extent, but not when it means leading someone else on and inevitably hurting her, if something doesn't change. Maybe he thinks he could love her, in time. I don't think he's really given her much thought, to be honest. He likes her for the company and the sex, but he's too focused on his own feelings to really have much consideration for hers. And Cary, like you said, is blinded. Awwww this was a sweet chapter. I love how you're working his solo album lyrics into the story. Just had to say that again. LMAO at Nick trying to freak Cary out by pretending he invited his whole family down. That's just mean!
I also like how you brought it back to her family. Her relationship with Nick mirrors that of her parents somewhat but she's right, they won't ever be that carefree. Nick better love her as much as she does him, I'd like to hope so anyway.
