Awwww Nick you should've told her that song had been written about Lauren lol. She would've understood if you explained right. Chicken. LMAO. No, I like how you handled the scene with her, it had to happen one way or another.
I also enjoyed how you incorporated the solo album in there. Nice use of Falling Down too. I agree with Cary, Nick needs a project so he's not full of self pity all the time.

I'm so glad they finally had some fun together.. And I'm also glad you didn't turn this into a love triangle.. This story is way to good for that :) I don't think Cary think that song is about her, she probobly know that he wrote that before they met..

Hopefully that means the last of Lauren, but I still think that Nick has some feelings for her. I felt a bit sorry for Cary, if she thinks that song is about her and then finds out it isn't, she'll be hurt. Or maybe she does already know it's not about her. I like that she's encouraging him to get back into his music so he can be 'that Nick' again. And I love Gone With The Wind!
Author's Response: I think he does too, and part of that is just the way I see the two of them in real life, he seems SO genuinely in love with her and happy with her, that I couldn't bring myself to write her as a bitch or make him hate her or anything. I think because she was the one who broke it off, he definitely still has some feelings for her, but so much has happened, I think he's capable of moving on, too. But you do kinda feel for Cary in that situation. LOL I've only seen Gone With the Wind once in its entirety, along with bits and pieces of it here and there when I was growing up, but it's such a classic; it seems like the kind of movie Cary would love. Awwwwww them writing a song together was so cute. I love Falling In Love. Its a good song. I am glad to see Nick feeling like Nick again and that he is getting over Lauren slowly. This was a really good chapter, I loved it!

I'd been going back and forth over whether to use his solo stuff in the story or not; I wanted to try to work it in, but wasn't sure I could make it fit, so I was really glad that scene came together! Thanks for another chapter. Lauren's visit was interesting. I feel like she was somewhat glad that she didn't have to help Nick through that. That she was happy to be in a "uncomplicated" relationship, you know? That's just the vibe I got.
I loved the writing/singing scenes with Nick and Cary, they were cute. :) I'm loving all of these updates.
Author's Response: Thanks for another review! ;) I always love your take on what's happening in the story. I definitely meant Lauren's visit to be fairly awkward; I figured it would be because she did break up with him, and then he got sick, and she hasn't seen him in months and has probably been feeling guilty, even if there's no legitimate reason for her to. I think, had they still been together, she would have stepped up and stuck by his side and taken care of him the way Cary is, but there probably is a part of her that's glad she doesn't have to deal with it that way, too. I'm glad you thought the last scene was cute and not too cheesy. ;) Thanks; I'm hoping the updates will continue the rest of the summer!

I'm kinda nervous about how excited Nick was at Lauren showing up.. I feel so bad for Cary, she has so many questions about their relationship and what she is to Nick, but she puts all that aside to focus on Nick and how to get him up on his feet again.. I just hope Nick knows how much she has done for him..
Author's Response: Cary has definitely given up a lot to be there for him, and I think he knows it, but at the same time, he's mostly focused on himself right now - and is justified in that, too. It's just a tough situation for both of them, and Lauren showing up just further complicates things. You'll see how that turns out in the next chapter. Thanks so much for the review! :)

I knew something was bound to happen after being cooped up for so long, but I never expected Lauren to turn up! OMG this could be awful for Cary. What if Nick suddenly decides that he needs some excitement and Lauren is there to offer him that? Oh god, I hope he doesn't become an asshole and cast Cary aside.

Ok so I'm finally caught up. Poor Nick...I can only imagine only imagine how horrible, sick, and tired he must feel. I can't blame him for feeling so blah and moody. And I love the twist in this chap. I can imagine how Cary is feeling and I like how it's realistic...she's bound to get restless and homesick as well.
And LOL at "My immune system's back, alright!" in that last chapter. That was funny!! Thanks for updating.

All that Cary is thinking makes sense. Her musing is completely correct. If I were her in that situation, I wouldn't know where Nick and I stood either. I knew this wouldn't be smooth-sailing for them relationship-wise, so I'm wondering how this will end up for both of them.
What's up with this Lauren thing? Hope we find out.

Author's Response: Thanks! I'm glad you can understand Cary's line of thinking. Nick's never really clarified his feelings for her, even with himself, so she's definitely justified in wondering. I think there's just been so much other stuff to worry about, they haven't been able to move forward in their relationship. You'll get more on Lauren in the next chapter for sure, from Nick's POV.
