OMG, it happen!! I can't believe it! It was so beautiful... Starting with Nick asking her to a date, and then she kissed him... It was so perfect! I think they both were expecting this too, lol. It was amazing, thank you so much for this update! I think it made my day, lol. AMAZING JOB!

Author's Response: Aww, thanks, Christine! :) I think so, too. I'm kind of picky about romance, but deep down, I'm a sucker for it, too. I didn't know if this story would go the romance route or not; I was waiting to see if the characters had the chemistry for it, but I was always sort of hoping it would turn out this way. Like you said, with all the drama, it's nice to give them some happiness out of it. Thanks for the review!

YESSSS!
Sorry, had to get that out of the way ;) Okay, I loved, loved, LOVED this chapter! The build up to the scene at the end was really well done. I could really feel Cary's nervousness and apprehension throughout the whole thing. I liked the part where she was backstage watching him at Ellen and thinking that it would have been a really cool experience if not for the situation they were in. I also liked how Nick assumed that she'd be coming with him to Nashville, but man he needs to be a little more clear with her. Or maybe he thinks he's being clear with her. Either way I'm sure Nick has a lot on his mind. I'm glad that Cary made the first move after their "date". I thought it sort of showed that Nick maybe wasn't sure where they stood as well, or how far he could go with her. The ending scene was really fabulous! Very tastefully written, and so fitting for this story. I love Nick and Cary to bits. This story is fantastic, Julie. I love it so much! LOL I have the biggest grin on my face and I'm probably going to re-read the chapter. Keep up the great work!

I felt so awkward about this chapter last night when I finished it; I haven't written any real romance in a few years, and I was worried it showed, but then when I reread it this morning, I was happy with it. You're right that Nick needs to be more clear with her, but I think you're also right about him not being sure where they stand either. Her feelings are clear, but his aren't - not even to me LOL. I haven't exactly figured him and how he really feels about her either. I think Cary needed to make the first move this time, to take them to that next step. Man, we've been waiting forever for that end scene! ;) I'm glad that Cary didn't quit on Nick romantic-wise even though she was unsure of how their relationship would change or if it did. I hope that Nick's news doesn't leak before it's time either. I'm glad that they were both able to escape what's been going on for so long, that dinner scene was sweet. :) I can't wait to read about Nick's transplant. Great update as always, Julie.

Finally some mush and they get some. From the looks of it they both really needed it too. Trust me it was well worth the wait. I can honestly say right now this is the best story on AC. I have a feeling I will be crying when it's over but it will most defiantly be worth it. Excellent work.

Ohhhh wow I didn't expect them to sleep together....he is so mysterious about how he feels about her...but I'm glad this is somewhat of a confirmation. I loved Ellen, she is one of the sweetest talk show hosts. Glad he got some things off his chest and it was nice of him to take Cary to Tennesee with him. Can't wait for the next chapter!

I had a feeling Leslie was going to tell Nick that she was pregnant. Sad that she was the only match and can't help him, though :( I really liked how well you portrayed Nick's family. They came off as very real. I also understand why he wouldn't want to contact his parents about this. He's probably right in thinking that Jane would make it all about her. I'm glad that Nick was able to make a decision, and I hope that the treatment works for him. Great chapter as always, Julie :)

I'm glad you thought the Carter clan was portrayed realistically; I wasn't looking forward to writing them, but once I got started, I actually kinda had fun with it and was happy with how it turned out.
