OMG; I can't believe he actually told them. All this time I thought maybe he would never tell the truth... And here it is! I think AJ's reaction was normal, but he should have stay to listen to Nick's story. I hope things work out better now that the guys know the truth. I'm still shocked, lol. Update soon <3
Author's Response: Thanks for the review! LOL I know, at the rate he was going, it seemed like he was never gonna tell them. I'm glad he did, though; he would have run out of excuses sooner or later. This is a turning point in the story. I'm glad you thought their reactions fit; I knew AJ was gonna take it the worst. I knew AJ was gonna freak out, but Nick definitely should have told them sooner. Glad the others were accepting and Brian has a point, he needs to take care of himself and apologize to Cary. I'm so glad he told them. Sorry I have been a bad reviewer lately. I have been loving all the updates, this is def one of my favorites for sure. Great chapter!

I couldn't see the other guys being pissed at Nick for too long, though; in the end, what choice do they have but to forgive him and try to help him out as much as they can? I expected a little more drama to be honest. I still like the chapter but it feels like I'm missing something!
Author's Response: Aww... well, that's okay. I really wasn't sure how this chapter was going to go down until I started writing it. I just wrote what felt natural. I knew AJ was gonna be pissed and that Howie would probably be more understanding. Brian was the wild card; I wasn't really sure about him. I think they all had every right to be pissed at Nick for hiding it from them, but at the same time, they just found out one of their best friends has cancer... I don't know if a big angry scene is the most natural way to react to that. It made sense for AJ, but I couldn't see Howie and Brian reacting quite the same way. They seem more mature, more forgiving. Obviously, they were hurt, but by the end of this chapter, they had made the decision to forgive and try to support Nick the best they could now that they know. Once I started writing, a big blow-out seemed too melodramatic. Though I promise more angry AJ in the next chapter! ;) Thanks for the review!

Oh man this made me cry. He finally told them & I knew AJ would react that way. He does care more than people know. Howie & Brian took it well considering all that went on. As for Kevin finding out Yeah that will be epic. And I'm glad Brian felt like shit for thinking bad about Cary. He should. She was keeping Nick alive. Now hopefully they can get past the cancer and maybe explore any feelings they have for each other. Keep up the great work.

Author's Response: Thanks Marguerite! Yeah, I always knew AJ was gonna take it the hardest and be the angry one. But like you said, it's because he cares. He just doesn't know how to show it. I figured Howie would be the most understanding; Brian, I thought, would feel betrayed, but in the end, come around because, really, what else is he going to do? They could be mad at Nick, or they could try to understand, forgive him, and be there to support him now that they can. As for Nick and Cary... we shall see. (I know you're tired of hearing me say that! LOL). Thanks again!! :)

That was a really sweet chapter. I can understand AJ being upset, it's a lot to take in and the fact that Nick waited so long to tell them would just add to that. I hope Brian's opinion of Cary will be a little better now that he knows the truth about her. I was also glad when Cary decided to let Nick go on his own and tell the guys himself. I think she really has a good grasp on what's best for him. This was a really great chapter, Julie! Definitely worth the wait and build up of Nick needed to tell them. I also have to say, I was reading some of Broken recently and you can definitely tell that your writing has improved so much from that story to this one, especially in the scenes where he tells the guys the truth. Kudos to you for that. You are a great writer :) Keep up the good work!!

I don't blame him; it is a lot to take in. And yeah, I felt (like Cary felt LOL) that this scene needed to be just with the guys, not with Cary or anyone else around. Nick needed to do it on his own. I was a little nervous about writing this one, so I'm glad you felt it was worth the build-up. :) LOL I actually read a little of Broken recently too, the chapter where he tells the guys in that one (it only took him two months there instead of three =P), to remember how I did it there and make sure I wasn't totally copying myself LOL. Thanks so much! I agree; Broken, especially the first half, is just a little too simplistic and cheesy, and I think my writing has improved since then too. Thanks again, Steph! :)

Aw, great chap Julie. I've been waiting for this moment, and you didn't disappoint. Somehow I'm not surprised with AJ's reaction. Sadly, I can see him doing that in real life just because he can't deal. I hope he can come around. I loved the way you had him telling the guys. Sometimes things like that get really wordy and repetitive but not this chap! Not that I expected anything different :) Thanks for not making us wait too long and can't wait to read another update!

Oh this one was very good. I like the excuse she came up with for the hospital trip. Very creative. I'm glad he is going to tell them the truth. About time. Personally when she made that remark about the perks if I was her I would have kissed him. I think they have feelings for each other but with everything going on they have put them aside. Would love to see some happiness on both sides. Keep up the amazing work and congratulations on the award.

I know I say it in every review, but...great chapter Julie!! I love how you added the real events, like missing soundcheck for the family emergency and the hate stuff on Twitter. The guys are really pissed off with him, especially AJ, but I wonder how they'll react when he tells them? Can't wait for more :)
