Woah... This is a cute and a sad story. I LOVE IT. You are an amazing writer! All the things that Nick is going through, must be really, REALLY HARD. And the way you write make me feel all that Nick is going through. I just wanna say WOAH of all of that. Cary is such an AMAZING and beautiful person. I mean, to take care of Nick, when she was already in that place with his mother, must be hard on her. But still is on Nick's side. I'm glad that her father and her friend could see her on stage! This is a beautiful story, keep up the excelent work.

It's an incredibly hard situation for both of them, but I think for Nick, it's helping him keep his sanity to stay in some control of his life, and poor Cary is just stuck because even though his whole little scheme goes against her better medical judgment, not to mention the emotional burden it's putting on her, she wants to help him because she cares about him. I'm glad you like her character and the story as a whole... Thanks so much for the amazing review!!! :)

Oh you really made me laugh out loud with your reference to fan fiction. Man you so nailed it. Even though your story is fiction it has a real feel to it. Real characters, real citations and just damn great writing. Keep up the wonderful work.

Aww I loved that chapter! I love that everyone jumps to the wrong conclusion about Cary and Nick, no one suspects a thing yet. I also liked the fanfic references in that chapter too :)
Mmm, I'm also liking the image of Nick's crooked smile!
Author's Response: Thanks Steph! I think it's an easy conclusion to jump to, knowing Nick, and he has no problem with it because it keeps everyone from suspecting the truth. awww... i loved them singing in the kitchen :) it was great to "see" nick so relaxed and that he is doing so well!!! it was an good idea to come with cary, because so he could "forget" his sickness at least for awhile... it was also good for cary, to see her dad and her friend again... and Hambelina of course ;) :)
it is more difficult with each day for cary, to hide this secret and i feel sorry for her, because she has no one to talk to... it must be hard for her to go through all this again:( but nick needs her and without her help, he would be lost... she is really great !!!

Author's Response: Thanks!! :) I was worried that part was too cheesy, but I figured, they're both singers, so why not? I sing and dance around in my kitchen when I'm cooking too, and I'm not even good at it! =P I do think this is very rough on Cary. Nick's the one going through it, but she's under a lot of pressure too and the fact that she can't confide in anyone makes it that much harder. Thanks, Mel; I'm glad you enjoyed the update! :)

:( Keeping this secret isn't just hard on Nick, but it's also hard on Cary, too. But she promised and basically signed up for whatever was going to come her way. I don't blame her for getting upset at the things Jessica said. This is just going to get harder and more stressful to handle as this story continues. Thanks so much for the update as always.

I wanted to give Cary a big hug but I wanted to kick Jess. Just coz Cary is on Nick's bus doesn't mean she sleeps with him! Lord. Her friend is a piece of work. Lmao at the stab at fanfiction. I hate those mary sue stories where girl tours with boy and falls in love. Ugh. Loving this chapter. Sorry my review was late, I'm not getting notification emails!

The song is from this album that was released back in like 2002 of cover songs Nick recorded when he was a kid. It's called Nick Carter Before the Backstreet Boys 1989-1993. It's hilariously adorable!

Aww great chapter Julie! I loved them singing and dancing in the kitchen and will have to watch that You Tube video when I'm home from work. I can just imagine them performing at the home and for some of the residents to be wondering who the hell they were!

LOL I used to help out with church at a local nursing home sometimes when I was in high school, and our school choir would perform there, too, and it was rare to get through anything without one of the senile ones shouting out something random or inappropriate... always good for stories LOL. You always end your chapters on these notes that cuts like a knife. This chapter was so great, it was happy, and them BAM, don't forget that this illness is going to get worse before it gets better and here is something that could happen. It could be Nick in that nursing home not too far in the future.
But that's what makes this story so compelling. The high notes are high, and the low notes are low, but intertwining them as you do makes the reader (or just me) attached completely. Great job :)
