I think Cary does care about him in more than a friendship way - or would, if given the opportunity. The question is, how does Nick really feel about her? Another great chap, Julie. I'm glad that we found out more about Cary-career and family. I also love the thoughts that Nick had like how he never even asked more about Cary. Lots of good stuff going on there. The part with her and the tour shirt was cute and love the fan girl parts! Unlike most you readers, I don't know who you're talking about though :( lol
And lastly, I liked the part where Nick actually gets scared. I mean, it's sad that he's scared, but it's a feeling that I think he needs to experience with such a serious disease. Thanks for updating so much lately!

Yeah, I thought I would spread out the background info on Cary through the story, instead of dumping it all into the first few chapters that she narrated, when readers were still getting to know her - I feel like it's better when you have a reason to actually care about her first. And thanks, I liked that that came up too, with Nick realizing he'd never asked her much about herself. I think he's been pretty selfish in this story - not necessarily in a bad way, just that he's obviously very concerned with what's going on with himself and isn't thinking much about other people. And yeah, I think you're right - he needed to get that reality check. He knows he has a serious disease, but at the same time, he's kind of been in some level of denial this whole story, so that just kinda hit home for him, made him realize how serious this really is. I fail at not reviewing yet...I read the last two chaps before but didn't get a chance to review so I apologize for the lack of la better detailed one. Lol.
Love the relationship that's developing between Cary and Nick. Ew at the canker sores...I can only imagine how painful. Lol at Nick imagining the mailman tripping with a vial of blood and catching Aids. I can imagine that boy has a wild imagination. Can't wait to read more!

I fail for not actually leaving a review last night lol. But I love this. I love "sty rabies" LMAO. Though I thought you were gonna be subtle? LMAO.
He definitely needs to listen to Cary a bit more, the last thing he needs is a psycho fan getting him sick. But on that same note, that last line is just perfect. It just encompasses the tone of the entire story.

I just have to tell you that I love this story. I remember reading Broken, and sure the plot is kinda the same, but the storyline is totally diffrent.. And as always your writing is amazing! I think Nick should tell the other guys about the cancer, but at the same time I understand him, because once he does that everything and everyone around him will change.. And I think he needs to stay in his little denial bobble for a little while longer..
As for the rabidgirl.. Even I think I know who she is, maybe =p I just have to ask, the "you called me sexy once" story, thats not true, right?? =P

I know I've gained some new readers with this story who haven't read Broken, but it's also nice to hear from the people who did and are still enjoying this one. I think it has a different feel, even though there are obvious similarities. It just feels more mature, less melodramatic, because I think as a writer, I am more mature, less melodramatic, than when I wrote Broken. Doesn't feel like seven years ago, but it was! I loved writing Broken, though, and this is almost like a nice little flashback, cause I'm having fun with this one too. I'm so thrilled with the reader response, so thank you so much for reading and reviewing!! I'm glad you're liking it! And as for the rabid girl... yes, according to her, it's true, but who knows... attention-seekers will say anything. =P LOL

Great chapter :) I'm not sure if I want to call Nick admitting he needed Cary as an epiphany or not. I think deep down he's always known that he needed her but is just starting to be able to admit it. I love how each chapter is like another layer peeled off the characters - we're slowly getting to their cores.
And the rabid fan...is based on a real person...and I know who that person is...I think...but I don't want to say anything...but...I think you know who I am thinking of...right?
