Poor Nicky, he's totally exhausted. :( I like how you're slowly but surely making Nick and Cary closer, he's come to really rely on her. But he doesn't really have much of a choice, does he? And I love how he feels horrible but is still dorky. :) Great update.
Author's Response: Thanks!! And yeah, he definitely does rely on her, but he hasn't given himself much of a choice. I think he thought in the beginning that it would be easier to open up to her because he didn't know her, she wasn't a friend, but he didn't realize that, in spending so much time with her and confiding only in her, she would basically have to become a friend as a result. I'm glad you liked the chapter!!

This chapter was so freakin' cute! I liked that song Nick sang, it was really funny. And I also liked how he said Paris turned him into a metosexual, LOL! I felt bad for Nick at the beginning, where he was too tired to perform so he chugged the red bull. Poor guy. He's doing a good job of hiding it for now but I think sooner or later the truth will have to come out. Hopefully sooner, for his sake! Awesome job on this one, Julie! I love the update roll that you've been on lately :D
Author's Response: Thanks Steph!! The song is from Team America, which is an epically hilarious movie, if you've never seen it. And yeah LOL, the only nice thing about the Paris fling is that at least she made ghetto Nick from 2003 go away! I like Nick best natural, though, somewhere between ghetto and metro, just normal guy-ish. Yeah, he is doing a good job of hiding it now, but eventually it's probably all gonna catch up to him. I love Cary and Nick together, not so much as a romantic couple oddly lol. But I really like their friendship, they really mesh well together. Their banter back and forth is downright adorable, and I really love their scenes together.
LOL@Nick getting those naughty nurse images though, how typical LMAO.
Also...you using lyrics from Team America? EPIC!
Poor Nick, he doesn't realize he's not gonna hide it for a month of the tour, let alone the whole thing. Either he's gonna just give up or the guys are gonna catch on.

LOL Anyway, THANKS DR!!! I dunno if you're detecting romance, per se, but maybe just some sexual tension. I was exploring that to see how it would go. I do think there would be a lot of awkwardness there if they decided to go the romantic route, but I'm glad you like them as friends. I really liked this chapter. You can so tell that Cary and Nick are becoming really close friends. I guess they have no other choice, but still. Their personalities mesh very nicely together. I enjoy reading the scenes between just the two of them a lot. I also laughed out loud at the part with AJ and Baylee. Too cute! I hope Nick feels better soon. Great chapter as always, Julie!

You never know if two characters are going to have chemistry or not; I made them pretty different, personality-wise, so I'm glad they seem to compliment each other! I feel so bad for Nick. It would be better for everybody just to know about his disease but I understand that he doesn't want to 'ruin' or complicate their lives.

cary is right... nick should tell them the truth!!! now they believe his excuses but it's only a matter of time until they will be suspicious... i think they should know, what's going on... they are his family and nick needs all the support he can get :) maybe he will realize this soon, too...
i still wonder, how long nick will endure this all... the shows and the chemo... both are very exhausting and weaken his body... poor nick :(...hope he won't collapse sometime!!!
btw... i'm a huge alex fan, and so i will not imagine him and rochelle ;) horrible imagination LOL

I'm so happy about all these recent updates! Poor Nick...so miserable :( So this chap was the first time being sick that the guys questioned him...Cary's right. There's only so many times the guys will buy his excuses. Lol at water butt!! That cracked me up. I'm being totally greedy but hope you've got another update tucked away!

Great chapter - I love Cary, mostly because she doesn't see through Nick's pretenses and won't put up with any of his bullshit. And she's right - sooner or later, the truth is going to come out but hopefully while Nick is not on his deathbed...
