wow.... really a great story!!! it touches my heart and made me cry often... but the other hand i had to smile too... i can put myself in both characters and it feels so real... nick's sickness feels so real!!!
and how he deals with the whole situation... it must be really hard to talk to anyone about it... to be alone with all the fear and so i'm relieved, that he "met" cary...and now they are already so much more than nurse and patient...
i love the way she cares about nick and in this last chapter as she stayed with him, to be sure, that everything is fine :)
i still wonder, when the guys will find out, what is going on with nick? I think this is only a matter of time...
i unfortunately cannot respond to everything, that happened in your story, but i really LOVE it and i can't wait to read more!!!!

Oh, it's different..yet, the same. It's hard to describe. I don't feel like I'm reading Broken again, it's TOTALLY different, just sort of having the same feelings I did reading it. I think you get what I mean by your response.
Author's Response: I totally get it; that's how I feel writing it too. I feel like this story has a completely different tone; it's still angsty, but not as melodramatic as Broken/BMS are. And the Nick/Cary dynamic is hopefully different from Nick & Claire. But writing what I'm writing right now, I'm totally reminded of Broken too. It's just unavoidable, but I loved writing Broken, so I don't mind it at all; it's a nice kind of deja vu.

Julie...you're doing it again. Sucking me in just like in just like those other 2 stories of yours. I can't even explain how I feel when I read this chapter. It's just like I felt 3 years ago reading BMS. Only YOU can do this to me Julie..lol. The way you capture Cary watching Nick onstage, or tucking him into bed...you have a magic touch girl. Always have, always will.
So yes, I loved this chapter..lol

awww. Wow I remember when I saw the boys in June, and you're right about Nick. For some reason, my eyes would not move from him...he's got this magnet thing going on. It must be hard for him to perform like nothing is wrong, but as Cary said...he has been trained to do that. Kind of scary how no matter how the guys feel, the show must go on. I wanted to cry at the end when he got sick...I really feel for her in the position she is in. She is becoming attatched to him, whether she knows it or not. Loved this chapter, can't wait for more!
Author's Response: I know, right?? Brian will always be my favorite, but I'm like that too; I'm just drawn to Nick for some reason. Didn't used to be like that, but he's just gotten better with age! What a great chap, Julie. I love how you describe him hiding this so well. It is scary though...but he seems to be pretty open to Cary about how he's feeling. The ending was really sad how she described him as no longer being that entertainer, but instead a little boy. That's great that they have the next day off so that he can rest. So glad you've been updating this lately. Can't wait to read more.

I didn't get to see their last tour, and this chapter makes me feel a little better about missing it haha. On that note, I have a feeling this chemo while on tour thing is going to get old fast. Great chapter :)

That was an evil cliffy leading up to the beginning of this chapter! But I am glad they didn't sleep together. That would make things so awkward! And speaking of awkward, what a way for Cary to meet Brian, ergh, I can totally understand her being super embarassed, I would be too! At least Nick is in good spirits. I hope it lasts throughout the tour. I guess we'll find out! Great chapter once again. Thanks for the double update! :) This is a great story, Julie!

I really like Cary, she's a very well rounded character. I liked how she was sort of humbled by the fact that the attendant recognized her. She's very down to earth, and I think it's so good for Nick to have someone like that helping him. I also enjoyed her explanation about the lines she can't cross being a nurse and stuff, which was all leading up to the fact that things with Nick are different and she shouldn't have stayed in his hotel room. UM, WHAT? Must go read next chapter now. You rock, Julie! I love this. Great chapter as always!
Author's Response: Thank you!! That means the world to me. Female leads get so much crap in fanfic for being Mary Sues or Anti Sues or whatever, so I'm always trying to avoid that territory and just write a female character who is realistic and likeable, but it's a lot easier said than done! So I'm glad you like Cary and think she's well-rounded. I was worried about Mary Sue with her being a singer and the whole American Idol thing, so I tried to make her otherwise relatable and normal, like the every-fan. Hehe, I loved your reaction at the end of the review. Thanks, Steph! :)

Oh so thinking about him gives her butterflies. I can see why. She is really stuck trying too stay professional but friendly at the same time. Hard to do with that man. He has charm without even trying. I hope they end up together before the end comes. He deserves some happiness. So does she. Keep up the excellent work.

Author's Response: Hehe, he would give me butterflies too. ;) Definitely hard for her to be professional and be a friend (and a fan) at the same time; that'd definitely be weird. As far as ending up together... if it's meant to happen, it'll happen. I honestly don't know at this point; usually I'm a planner, but in this story, I'm trying to let the characters write that aspect of it themselves, and I'll go with whatever they decide LOL. I think it's pretty funny that the guys think Cary and Nick are an item now.
Still a bit worried about Nick, the guy is crazy for still performing during this treatment but we will see what happens. Thanks again for the updates!
