Good conversations in this chapter, between Josie and Brian and then Nick and Brian. I'm glad to see Josie and Brian getting along better, for the sake of Shane. Nick is still the voice of reason LOL. I'm curious about HIS feelings for Josie. I'm guessing she's just more of a friend/fuck-buddy to him; I don't think he'd be telling Brian to go after her if he loved her himself. We'll see what Brian's heart decides...

Ahh, so she DID sleep with Nick! This is getting juicy. I was wondering how she knew for sure that Shane is Brian's and not Nick's, but I guess if she wasn't sleeping with Nick at the time he was conceived... It seems like her relationship with Nick is a lot less complicated. With Brian, it's all drama. If she does want her to love her the way she supposedly loves him, she needs to forgive him and start treating him better. He's been a jerk to her, but by the end of this chapter, it seems like he's trying to be nice.

Ooh, I loved the tension in this chapter. It's about time they started really communicating, even if it means shouting at first. At least there was some honesty between them. Poor Jackie, so innocent and oblivious to what really happened LOL. At least she finally got some answers. I liked seeing Brian and Josie throw down LOL. The love-hate relationship is more interesting than just love.

Ooh, I wish I had read one more chapter before I stopped yesterday, cause this one was the revealing chapter I was waiting for! I'm glad to finally know how Brian and Josie came to sleep together and that Shane is his son. I was starting to wonder if maybe she DID have something going on with Nick behind the scenes... I can understand Josie's anger towards Brian after reading the flashback, but even though he was wrong to do it, I don't think she should have let it happen either. Regardless of her feelings, she knew what she was getting into, fooling around with a soon-to-be married man. I don't think he gets how much he really hurt her, though. Reading on...

Argh, I'm getting frustrated with Josie giving everyone the runaround. LOL I see why Brian thinks she's a drama queen. It's like she's going out of her way to make herself miserable - going to see Brian's parents, staying in their house, acting all pissy whenever he tries to talk to her and being intentionally vague when his parents question her. I think they have every right to know if Shane is his son, and I think she's cruel for keeping the truth from them, unless it turns out there's a twist ahead and he really isn't, despite the looks and the middle name. I'm curious to see what it will take to break down the wall she's built up around herself.
Author's Response: Josie feels like Shane is the only thing she has in her life. He's the one person that loves her no matter what. Deep down I think she wants people to know the truth, but afraid to lose her son. I think that was her point going back to Kentucky and to the Littrell's.

I wish Brian and Josie would just talk, instead of skirting the issue. It seems like they both made mistakes and both have things to apologize for. Brian shouldn't have slept with Josie if he was engaged to another woman, and Josie shouldn't have let it happen. I think there's more to this back story, though, so I hope to get more information through flashbacks or their conversations in the upcoming chapters.

For as good friends as they supposedly once were, it's sad to see Josie treating Brian so coldly and (most likely) lying to him about Shane being his son. The flashback about her mom was revealing; it makes me think she's hurting about more than just Brian and has maybe sort of given up in life. It seems like Shane is all she has to live for right now. Hopefully she'll open herself up to the idea of reconciling with Brian.
Author's Response: Yeah, she kind of got a bum deal. Life didn't play out the way Josie expected it to play out. I think she takes it out on him because deep down she knows he'll be there for her.

Glad to get some insight on what caused their falling out. Brian's love life seems to be a mess... three weeks away from marrying the woman he cheated on with Josie, and then he was going to propose to this Natasha who cheated on him. Well, I guess that's karma at work LOL. I'm curious to find out more of the back story here. How did they end up sleeping together? What made Brian propose to another woman and then cheat on her with Josie? Did Josie expect him to leave his fiancee for her? Seems like there's some serious lack of communication between the two of them. They need to start talking and being honest with each other. Josie admitting she loved him was a good start. Dun dun dun! I liked Brian's reaction to finding out about Josie and meeting Shane. It seems pretty clear that Shane is his, but I wonder why Josie didn't tell him. Brian is such a family man, and I wasn't at all surprised that he was upset at the thought of missing out on the first two years of his son's life. I can't wait to see what they'll have to say to each other.
