First off, thank you for such a quick turn around on that update! The cut-off from their families is going to be hard on them... Well, kind of helps Brian, gives him a great excuse to continue to ignore his wife, lol. (at least on the wife front) Honestly, I'm not sure who to trust now, anyone and everyone is a suspect in my eyes now. Like those two security guards... What if they're bad guys? Paranoid much? Hehehe. I will continue to look forward to your updates. Your story gets more and more intriguing. You're awesome.

This is wonderful! Truly wonderful!!! Now I am very excited. :D i love the fact that they are all the targets now and that they need to disappear to be safe. Im sure it will not happen though. :) looks like safety is an illusion hard to become reality in stories that are thrilling. :D than you very much for the update and sorry that I didn't post a review on the previous one, but for that ill say, I love that Nick & Brian got to talk seriously with each other and that their closeness is starting to grow once again. I daily check and waits for your updates, so I am thrilled to have seen this chapter. hehe. You really got me going with your story. ^_^

Just found the review comments page... thanks for your replies! Finally getting back to this story after some crazy deadlines.
I really enjoyed this chapter, both for the Nick/Brian scene and how it established the evolution of their friendship up to now and dealt with the ramifications of recent events. Their need for each other's presence seems very realistic, and I'm glad that Brian is choosing to stay there for now. Wondering also how the Nick/Brian/AJ dynamic will develop... I think you should continue it!
Has anyone dealt with the logistics of telling immediate relatives that Nick is not dead? I'm also hoping you'll consider keeping him deceased in the public eye to draw out the attacker and further the police investigation. :)

I feel as though it's an interesting one to explore. I have just posted the next chapter and I feel as though you have already read it. You were bang on in your comment about the police asking them to keep Nick's re-appearance a secret. Did you somehow manage to gain access to my file?!?! LOL

oh for god sakes, hug him Kevin. I really think your portrayal of Kevin's inability to show how he feels about Nick is well done, it felt realistic. I also loved how jealous he was of all the other guys relationships with Nick.
I like that the reason Lauren wouldn't answer her phone was because of the "cleanse", but she had a point. They didn't leave any messages. I liked all Nick's reasons for not knowing anything but something tells me that the person who is after him is not done yet. Great chapter!
Author's Response: Kevin always seems to hang back a little bit. I really love the rare moments when he shares an "emotional moment" with one of the other guys. Sometimes he does look kind of jealous of how the others interact with each other. Although, I think that he often tries to cover it up by being overly serious or looking annoyed. I think you're right in terms of the person not being done with the boys just yet. ;)

I squealed when I saw Nick's name LOL.
I totally understand why Nick was a bit offended they were at his house and talking in private, he was confused and after they told him why I think he understood as well. I loved their reactions to seeing him alive, it was very believable. AJ practically tackling him while Brian hung back like he was afraid. I wonder what it would have been like if Kevin had seen him first.
I loved that Frick and Frack hugging moment, I live for those. looking forward to Howie and Kevin seeing Nick too!
Author's Response: YAY for making your squeal! LOL I also have a huge soft spot for any kind of Frick and Frack moment. There will be plenty more of those as the story progresses. Poor Nick - I would have reacted the same way that he did if I had showed up at my house and my two close friends were seemingly randomly chilling in my backyard.

I really really enjoy how you have written Brian here, his and AJ's relationship...and just Brian himself was amazing. I feel the part of him wanting to feel everything was perfect is very accurate, and I would expect AJ to react the way he did when he saw Brian holding a cigarette....because I would react the same way. I am glad the boys are being open with each other.
I love how they were both yelling at Kevin before he told them the body didn't belong to Nick, I can't wait to see who it was and where he is!
Author's Response: No worries about not reviewing. I feel like I have been playing catch up with myself lately in terms of trying to get the next chapter out. Sometimes life is just too crazy for the stuff that I really want to do. :) I'm glad that you enjoyed my portrayal of Brian here. I was kind of worried that people would feel that I had made him too "hard", too unlike himself. As I've mentioned before to others, I seriously believe that there is more to Brian than what he presents to the world/the fans.

Oh Kevin, just hug the boy! I enjoyed the interrogation they gave him. I would have been asking him all the same questions. Still not sure what engagement island is. It sounds like it should be a reality show on MTV or something lol Now onto the interesting question of who would want Nick dead, unless the entire thing was nothing but a huge coincidence although I have a feeling that's not the case.Great chapter. I'm glad he's back in the mix. I missed his interactions with the other guys.
Author's Response: I know!! Ugh! Kevin can be so frustrating at times! Engagement Island is the nickname that Nick and Lauren gave to the supposedly super secluded island that he proposed to her on. I heard him use the nickname on an interview or something. I probably should have explained that, but I figured that if I had heard it than everyone else would have as well (as I'm not the biggest Nick fan in the world - LOL). Sorry for the confusion! On with the mystery!

Yay I miss Frick and Frack. The funny thing is, AJ is a very messed up person too so why could there be an A-Rok but Brian pushes Nick away for his mistakes? Very frustrating. I think that things will slowly go down hill for the story. Not in a bad way but I mean danger. You couldn't have written a start to a story like that and then be BAM Nick is alive and ok.
Author's Response: You're right. I wouldn't have started a story so dramatically just to end it in such an anti-climatic fashion. There is definitely some danger lurking just around the corner. In response to the whole Brian/AJ vs Brian/Nick relationship, I think it has to do with how "public" their respective friendships are. I've always sensed that Brian and AJ are close, but they kind of keep it "hidden". Whereas the whole Frick and Frack thing is so publicized that I feel that Brian would try to disassociate himself from Nick's equally public bad behavoiur as people are more likely to tie the two of them together. Weird? -- YES!! LOL

Well, just like that, I'm behind again *sigh* lol but I guess as problems go, this is a good one because at least I always have something to read. I loved the re-emergence of Nick and the fact that he just happened to be away. I'm kind of confused where he was. I liked the idea of Lauren's cleanse as to why she wasn't contacting anyone. I'm sure you'll elaborate on what the deal with Nick was. AJ is so cute! I can completely see him reacting the way he did. Like a puppy happy to see his owner again! Also enjoyed reading how emotionally draining it was on Brian to find out the truth. I can't wait to see Kevin's reaction. LOL I can hear him lecturing from here! Great update!

It's nice to know that you appreciated AJ's reaction. I loved writing him being all super happy and excited. As you already know, Kevin does a bit more interrogating than lecturing, but his reaction turns out to be "classic Kevin" nonetheless.

Hurray for plot development! As a reader, it was difficult to go from the previous highly emotional chapters to this much more analytical one, but part of that is evidently Kevin's perspective and the way he's decided he has to deal with the situation, which I did find believable.
Crazy series of coincidences, but it worked well enough..
Glad the guys are back together and looking forward to the next chapter!
Author's Response: I'm glad that you picked up on the more serious/logical vibe of this chapter. I just couldn't bring myself to write a highly emotional chapter from Kevin's perspective at this point. It just didn't seem to fit with his usual mindset. He seems like an analyzer to me, and I figured that he would want to get "all of his ducks in a row" in order to find out where Nick had been. The next chapter will bring us back to Brian and Nick, so you can bet that it will be more emotional. :)
