So, I thought the song 'Inconsolable' fit so well with this. It really did intertwine really well with it. Awe, I figured Nick would end up at a beach somewhere. I loved that he realized what he wanted, which is Alyssa. The same thing goes for Alyssa.

They love each other. Hopefully, therapy will make them so much stronger. They really do belong together. It was so great to see that they are talking again. Alyssa has opened up so much in this chapter and that's a big step for her!

This was great, Teri. Haha, I can't wait to see what's going to happen in the next chapter. Please write more soon. :D

OMG TERI… It’s THEM again! And I love them! lol. Okay, so, let’s see… How about I start at the beginning? I could start at the end, but why?

The beginning with Nick was just really good. Even though he “broke up with her,” he didn’t. He still cared. He just had let his anger overcome him and that’s what came out. He needed to cool off and rationalize the situation.

First off, I love that Alyssa kind of woke up due to the “loss” of Nick. Sure, she’s going through a LOT with losing Noah, but losing Nick… Well, he’s her EVERYTHING. She needs him. They loooove each other. *giggles* And it’s just too cute that (even though it was devastating for her), she still wore Nick’s Bucs jersey and held his pillow while she cried. It’s like he’s comforting her without him even knowing it. That’s the beginning of her letting him back in. :D

Through Nick’s narration, I think it shows how much he’s matured since when she tried to kill herself. You can’t just make someone promise to never cut again. They need help to get through that. Nick’s finally realizing that and he’s finally willing to get professional help. He recognizes that he’s not going to be able to help her on his own. Since he cares about her so much, he needs to do that for her. For them. To salvage what they have. And I think with his attitude and her needing him in her life, they’ll be just fine. His narration also showed how much he misses the old them (I’m totally with ya there, Nicky!). I think that as soon as he wasn’t just her best friend, their relationship changed. They lost the intimate connection that only best friends can share. As soon as sex as added to the mix, there are things that definitely change. I just hope (along with Nick) that they can get back to that!!!

Alyssa’s narration… It was powerful. The whole opening paragraph about their bed… OMG, I loved it. And she hits on the fact that everything changed when she and Nick slept together. I was surprised, yet understanding when she said that she regretted the sex with Nick. It’s like… She knows she needs him, but she knows that she liked him being there for her as a friend. When things were simpler. Regardless of how much Ali might think it’s the fact that they’re in a relationship that they’ve grown apart, they’re still soul mates and I think through talking it out and therapy, they’ll realize that.

I liked the end scene the best of ALL. When Nick came into a room, Ali woke up as if it was a dream. I loved it. When Nick first approached the bed, he wasn’t overbearing. He wasn’t all up in her face and trying to force her to touch him or even open up to him. It was her choice and that was the most important thing. I loved that Alyssa let herself go weak in his arms. He really needed to feel that and so did she. She needed to let go and depend on him and he needed to be needed by her. They both recognized that her cutting was bad, but that it needed to happen. If it hadn’t, they wouldn’t have been there like that that night. Nick would probably have made dinner alone while Alyssa hid in her room.

I love that they kissed! I feel like they haven’t had any physical contact in FOREVER and I missed it. (I can’t wait for them to have sex… But all in good time…) It’s like everything’s gone back to the beginning. The excitement when they kissed for the first time. The same feeling is being recreated that was there in AIL when they made out for the first time. Hooray!!

I liked that Ali asked Nick for the solution of how they can fix everything. I thought that was huge. Usually, Ali’s the one with the plan and Nick goes along with it. Nick looks at Ali as the smart one that’s in control. So letting Nick offer a solution is huge because it shows how vulnerable and lost she is. Nick, having thought about it during his drive and time at the beach, had the solution of therapy. He’s knows they can fix it if they work on it and he knows they need a professional. It’s really huge for both of them. They’re admitting they need help and they don’t have all the answers.

The closing of them staying up all night together felt reminiscent of their friendship when they were so close and they used to spend so much time together and talk everything out. They used to offer each other such clarity in each other’s issues and now they’re doing it together in the situation that they share. The sunrise at the end gives new hope to their relationship. It’s a new dawn and a new day and they’re going to be better. :D I can’t wait for more. I adored it, hun!

I can't believe that Nick just left her! They need each other!
Also it was a smart move of Nick to send all the others off to be alone with Ali. I just wish it would have worked out better. Maybe it will.
Hopefully Nick's outburst will knock some sense into Ali and get back to reality.
Update soon please!

Wow, Nick was definitely smart in telling her family that it would be best if they left. Hm, at least Alyssa did say a few words to Nick. I can't believe that she broke the mirror and started cutting herself once again. It was suspected though, that she'd cut.

Oh gosh, Nick's words were so harsh, but I'm crossing my fingers that they'll knock some sense into Alyssa. She seemed to be really effected by them, so let's just keep our fingers crossed with that. I can't believe he left the house with her in that condition, hm, is he going to turn around and come back? Go to..uh, Emma's? I hope he doesn't...

This was great though, Teri. I definitely enjoyed this chapter. I think it's a major turning point for this situation. Let's hope that it will be. I can't wait to read more. Please write more as soon as possible. :D

Alyssa’s narration in the beginning is really powerful. She doesn’t care about her life anymore and she blames herself for everything that happened. I really hope that Nick makes her see that that’s not that case. It’s not their fault. It’s just how it is. Buuut… I think that the fact that she’s going back to school is a good sign. I mean, sure, she’s going to avoid her problems and bury herself in school, but I think she’s still giving us hope that she’s thinking about the future. Her narration also gives insight into the fact that she misses her father. She also is upset about Olivia. It’s like all of her pain is being concentrated at the moment and it’s rough.

I love how close the two girls are – Olivia and Alyssa. You can tell they love each other and they really are concerned for each other. It’s great that they’re there to support each other, but I really want Nick to be the one that Alyssa opens up to. Like Nick says when he kicks them out, he really needs to be alone with her so they can open up to each other and such. Let’s just say thank God for Mary because if she wasn’t there, I think her friends and family would’ve pushed to stay there, especially Clark. Clark’s been frustrating me lately because I feel like he doesn’t understand at all and he wants to have too much control… Like, Nick’s her fiancé. I want Nick to be there for her. Not her brother. I get that he cares about her. They all care about her. But Nick needs to be the one to support her and have her confide in him.

As far as Ali cutting again… Eesh. I mean, it was a LOT to take in. I’ve never really read anything like that even though I’ve known cutters before in my real life. It was just… Wow. It was so symbolic that she cut herself with a piece of mirror. I could picture her worn expression in the mirror and it was so strong of her to punch the mirror. Then to cut herself with a piece of mirror, a REFLECTION of what she’s become, was just amazing. She’s angry at herself and she’s so full of pain and she’s trying to inflict physical pain on herself to distract herself. It makes sense that Ali would return to cutting because she’d done that before and she’s at her darkest time right now. She lost her child. So it parallels what she’s been through before and it makes sense she’s going through it again, but worse. I don’t blame Nick (and anyone else) for being worried about her attempting suicide again because if she tried it before after Collin, I’d be worried after she loses a child.

Hence why I’m glad Nick came in before it went too far. I feel so bad because Ali feels like she can only hurt herself to deal with the pain. She can only inflict the physical pain on herself and make herself hurt to numb her emotions. And she won’t tell Nick that because she doesn’t want to hurt him anymore because she knows he’s dealing with the pain of losing Noah. What I hope she’ll eventually understand is that they need to mourn and get through this difficult time together. Yes, Nick is hurting, but they both are. And it’s neither of their faults.

That being said… Nick finally let loose… His anger taking over his pain. It sounded selfish of him, but he needed to say it. He got some stuff out that he really needed to. And he did. In the process, he left her. Also in the process, he also finally made her let out some pain through her tears. Even though in a way, it’s a huge disappointment, maybe Alyssa can make some progress in her grieving. And maybe, just maybe, she and Nick will be able to go back to their friendship and relationship again. (If not, I’m going to cry endlessly… lol.)

Overall, AMAZING chapter once again!

So I'm finally getting the chance to read and review this chapter. First off I think its REALLY a good thing that Alyssa has been going on those long runs to help her burn off some of that emotion. It's nice to see her deal with her emotions in a more healthy and productive way than the alternative.

I also love the part when she's on the phone with Nick and Nick knows her so well that even though she's not speaking to him, he instinctly can read the probable expression on her face. It's like they know each other SO well...

As dramatic as the nursery scene was and how scary it was that she had that breakdown, I think it was a step in the right direction for Ali. It showed that she was finally letting herself show some emotion and really grieve, which is important. And she began to speak again which is a definite plus. I got the sense from this chapter that although its going to take time, she's going to get through this.

Wow, what can I say?
Awesome like always. I can't even start to imagine how Ali must be feeling(and Nick too of course). I'm glad that she's finally starting to let her emotions out a little bit instead of holding it all in. Hopefully Nick can get her to open up even more so they can share their pain and get through it together.
Update soon again :D

You almost made me cry! ...almost. :) Another great chapter, her trashing the nursery was incredibly moving, and I'm glad that despite how much she's hurting she's finally able to let it out verbally, so she can start getting through it.

I hope Alyssa doesn't keep shuting Nick out like that. Good chapter by the way.
