Sean is definitely like Alyssa was when she was with Nick. Jealousy issues all over the place. Good to see the tables turned, it'll help her see how she was.
I kind of agree with Nick about Shayla, with their careers, a kid wouldn't be the best idea. It's possible if one parent is at least away from the spotlight (like Alyssa had it been her) but not with both of them. I get where Shaylas coming from, but she has this too focused on her own career vibe to be a great parent.
Something's going to happen to Sean, I can so sense it. Shayla and Nick won't last, the kid issue is gonna widen a crack in their relationship.

Thank you Rose! You're dead on about Sean (haha that rhymes! lol) I kind of realized that as I was writing this chapter and even jotted it down in my notes. I think later on in the story Alyssa is going to definitely see that and apologize to Nick lol
Shayla... Yea she just doesn't strike me as the "mother" type, but you know that some people just want kids because its expected of them. With Shayla its a question of does she REALLY want them? Or does she just want to be a Mom because society says women should have kids after being married a certain length of time?

I think Nick should just play it cool and make Alyssa see what she missing lol but of course this is Nick we are talking about he dumps right into things and ask question later (reason why Alyssa and Nick broke up the first place)
I am sorry I know that you trying to make Sean this nice guy but he to nice for me I like guys that keep me on my toes (winkNickwink) and of course I am all for Alyssa and Nick

Sometimes when someone seems too perfect they're the most flawed deep under the surface and I think we'll be seeing more of Sean's flaws in future chapters although he's not a bad guy. As for what Nick is going to do about Alyssa you'll have to see, but Nick is a lil older and wiser so maybe he'll take things slower this time.

That's an interesting side of Sean. Definitely seems to have his own insecurities when it comes to Nick.... I wonder how he'll feel once he realizes that if/when he gets deployed to Iraq, Alyssa will be all by her pretty self and living VERY close to her exboyfriend!!
Nick still dodging fatherhood... I wonder how that will work out once him and Alyssa finally get together (LOL), but I'm pretty sure if it had been Alyssa instead of Shayla, he'd probably agreed to having a baby, as it's obvious he believes (even if it's in his subconscious) that Alyssa is better fit to be a mother than Shayla... I wonder how Shayla would react if he "accidentely" lets that fact slip.....
That party is gonna be one hell of an event, what with Nick and Alyssa at the same place once again.

Author's Response: I'm glad that you found the other side of Sean interesting. Of course he has to have his flaws which haven't really been shown much just yet. Haha WHEN Alyssa and Nick get together? LOL We'll have to see about that *winks* Let's just say that yes... Things are going to start to get very interesting...

Ah, I was so, so happy to see that you updated! I love this already and it's only been a few chapters since it started. Oh my, Sean sure does seem to be the jealous of Nick and what Alyssa had with him. Alyssa keeps telling him that she's over Nick though, you know? I mean, she even told him that she'd have a kid with him - heck, she's married to him! I'd hope she would -ahem- 'be over' Nick.
Shayla is pressing for children now too. Nick just doesn't want to have kids with Shayla is what I think. I think he was just comfortable with seeing himself with kids if their mother was Alyssa. Now that the tables has turned, he just...doesn't have that thought about Shayla with kids.
Haha, Nick was calling Izzy wanting Alyssa's number. Nick sure does seem happy and excited to see her (Alyssa). I wonder if trouble will be arising anytime soon. Hm, I guess we'll have to wait and see.
This was great, Mel. I love this already. When you get the time, I hope that you'll write more as soon as you can. :D

Thank you Jamanda! I'm so glad that you are enjoying this story. I already feel like it tens time better than UMS. I was telling Teri this, but I'm finding that Sean is a lot like the person Alyssa used to be. In UMS she was the one who was ridiculously jealous of other girls that Nick happened to have any kind of connection with. So, the tables definitely have turned for her.
I think that you're right on the money with Nick and Shayla. Some of it is the reasons he said, but if it he was with Alyssa he prolly would be a lot more open to the idea of children.
I'll try to update soon. I'm off on Sat, so maybe I can get another update out then.

Ohh! I like it =]. I think Alyssa and Sean are still incredibly close. I'm not even sure Alyssa's thinking about Nick the way he seems to be thinking about her. Unfortunately, I see something bad happening to Sean overseas. As sad as it is, I think that might be the only way Alyssa would ever decide to move on from him. But who knows? Maybe I'm wrong. We'll just have to wait and see.
I kinda feel bad for Shayla. She seems to really want kids with Nick but we can all tell he's totally not ready. I guess it's somewhat understandable. I just hope he doesn't do anything to screw up with Shayla. I don't see Alyssa showing interest in him if he decides to cheat on Shayla and get with her. That's why she broke up with him in the first place. But again, I'm just the outsider, haha.

Author's Response: Thanks for the insightful feedback Sarah! I'm really interested in hearing your thoughts about both couples. Alyssa and Sean are very close, but I think in the next few chapters you'll start to see a few possible cracks in their relationship. As for Nick and Shayla, I'm glad that you see where she's coming from. The question is will she get Nick to change his mind or not?

I am so glad that Alyssa is finally a confident woman(hello, to be able to wear that dress takes some guts) since Nick is a better person as well, they can finally be together, which probaby won't happen since that would be to short of a story... I kinda feel bad that Nick is begining to regret marrying Shayla(even though I'm not her biggest fan, you can't compare being separated by a tour to being separated by a war)but I think this was bound to happen since Nick and Alyssa really love eachother and are meant to be.... I really like Sean!! It's so cute how he stuck by Alyssa through everything and how he protects her, which makes it kinda hard since I'm all for the "Nick and Alyssa team"...there are so many ideas bouncing off in my head as to where the story can be heading... Is there a possibility of an affair between Nick and Alyssa ater Sean is deployed? LOL... awesome job, update soon!
Author's Response: Thank you SO much for the review hun! I've kind of been having doubts about my writing and this story and that's kind of exactly what I needed to hear right now. I'm SOOOO glad that you are beginning to see the change in Alyssa. Yes, the dress was defintely to show that she's a lot more confident right now and I think that Nick definitely is noticing the difference. I'm also REALLY glad that you like Sean. I'm trying to make him a REALLY nice guy overall, but of course he's going to feel threatened by Nick. As to where the story is going to go, you're just going to have to stay tuned, but I have outlined 32 chapters so far and I don't think I'm halfway done so there's definitely going to be a lot of twist and turns. The situation is going to be a complicated one!
