For some reason, that New Years' song always gets me emotional, lol. I'm assuming it does for most of us, lol. But man, what you ladies touched upon is a very scary thought... with going into the new year, unsure of where they would go from there. And the reality of it all, with eventually running low on resources, power, etc... *smh* too scary to think about.

Poor Brian has a lot on his plate. From thinking about Gretch, to his unborn child, to the future, to still trying to keep his faith on track... that's a lot that would surely take a toll on anybody! And I do understand the fact that he really doesn't want to put Gretchen and his child at risk and firmly wants to believe that there's gotta be more to this and they can't stay there forever... but just going out there would be suicide, and he should definitely listen to his cousin who just returned from it all and almost lost his life in the process. It's pretty evident Kevin seems to be still kicking himself for the failure of that expedition, so I truly see both sides and feel bad for the both of them. "/

I can only say that I hope Brian continues to hold strong to his faith and just believe. They really need to believe in themselves, each other and God to get through this! I'm glad that they'll go back to trying to the radios... I had completely forgot about that! Lol. Hopefully they'll find more survivors! Anywho, yet again, another GREAT update ladies, and I seriously can't wait for the next one! :)

Author's Response: Thanks, Reb! I'm glad you thought the Auld Lang Syne part was emotional, instead of just cheesy LOL. I was a little worried about that, but I thought it was mostly just sad, the eight of them sitting around, singing that song together, the only eight people left in the world, as far as they can tell. Definitely scary! Brian's in a tough situation for sure; there's risk involved with either option. Will staying there and trying the radios again pay off? Stay tuned and find out! ;) LOL Thanks for another great review, Reb!!

Great chapter ladies.  I can see Brian's concerns but then again, the others have a bigger pov.  I think they should stay put.  Again, nice job girls!

 

P.S.  Can Nick and Riley give Brian and Grech's baby a playmate? Pweeeese?? *cheesygrins*

Author's Response: LMAO I had to mention the hair! ;) Yeah, I think they both have valid points, but after what they've seen on the road, the others are probably right - it's a big risk without any guarantee of payoff. As for a playmate... ha, you know we won't answer that! =P LOL Thanks for the review, Jen!

Didn't see that coming, but I suppose I should've.  I'm so happy for them and hope everything works out OK, they deserve it.

As for Nick and AJ's Christmas songs, I was laughing so much at those lyrics!  I can totally imagine them singing them too, lol.

So good to see a new chapter, loved it :)

Ooooh my. The opening of this chapter of course made me laugh! LOL. I could just hear his scream and see his face, and I seriously busted out laughing!! Thank you, Nick Carter, for that horribly acted scene... thank you Rose for sharing that lovely video clip with me, lmao!!

But ugh, the thought of all of North America being affected by the virus and only them being the true sole survivors is indeed a scary thought!! I really don't know what I'd do if I were in their shoes! And leave it to those two (Nick and Riley) to throw in a little humor while they prepare themselves to take down some undead bitches! Oh, and leave it to Nick to blow up their plane. -____- LOL, just keeding. But in this istance, we can truly say "blame it on Nick Carter", lol. But man, with poor Kevin injured, and no plane to fly them to either California or back to Florida, I'm anxious to read on and see what'll happen!

Author's Response: LMAO thanks, this came right when the movie finally got on the net. So we wanted to use it somehow, cause it's seriously too good not to mock! (And you're welcome lol). It's a scary thought, the rest of the country being gone. So that's why Kevin needs to find out. We like throwing some humor in when we can, lol. It's not gonna be an easy trip for them, that much is certain...thanks Reb!

So glad that Howard is still with us, but man... I'm feeling more and more bad for Brian as he continues to dwell on the memories of his twin daughters! Even more emotional when he started comparing Gabby to them! :( Loved the interaction between Brian and Kayleigh, and how you described the scene. I completely envisioned lying under the stars in complete darkness... I love doing that. :) And also, the way you described how they could smell the stentch of the rotting corpse that was coming towards them. Damn, it was like I could smell it myself! >__< Lol.

But holy shit, I did NOT see this coming!!! Poor Kayleigh!! Just when they were becoming tighter and stronger as a unit, this happens! :( Just when I, along with the others, were starting to like Kayleigh!! Lol. That poor girl. I seriously cringed and almost GAGGED upon reading the zombies feasting on the side of her brain! Ugh, typing about it makes me want to gag again!! Lol. I seriously thought Brian would have been able to get to her in time, so that was a nice twist to jar us from becoming too comfortable with this story and their circumstances. I'm sad that it took a death of a character that was becoming likable to open their eyes and remind them that they are not invincible, though they seem to be immune to the virus, but it played out really well! :)

Author's Response: Thanks Reb!! Brian's story is the most emotional, which is probably why he's my favorite to write LOL. I just can't imagine trying to go on with life after experiencing that, but somehow he's got to. I'm glad we shocked you with Kayleigh's death. We definitely wanted to hit home the point that none of them are safe; the zombies are still a threat, and their survival isn't guaranteed. Like you said, even though they seem to be immune to the virus, they're not immune to having their braaaaainsss chewed out of their skulls LOL. Glad you liked!

Zombie Christmas carols give us joy! :) As for Gretchen's pregnancy, it's a tough call... on one hand, they'll need to start repopulating the earth at some point, or die out. On the other, without their medical expert, it could be risky to have a baby now. We shall see how it turns out. Glad you're still enjoying the story; thanks again for the review! :)

Totally random, but as I read this story, I thought, "Hmm... this should be a question someone should ask the boys. What's their blood type?" Yanno, incase we face a zombie apocalypse like this! ;) LOL. :P

As I've mentioned before, as I watch The Walking Dead, all I think about is this story. And knowing that show came out wayyy after your fic, and having only catching up on it now while the show exists, I can't help than to make comparisons and be convinced that the writers and producers totally stole this concept from ya'll and based this show off your story. ;) LOL.

Of course, reading this chapter made me think of the boy that was shot. I love the twist of them learning that they're all coincidentally B+. That was a good theory they had in mind, with perhaps that was the reason why they were immune to the virus. Having that said, I love yet another twist ya'll threw in it with it, with Brian voicing that he doesn't believe it's their blood type that made them immune to the virus because of his daughters. It would've been the easier route to run with the fact that their blood type made them immune... but, ya'll took the challenging route, which I'm glad ya'll did! :D

Poor Howie though. :( I could just vision how much blood he had loss from the incident, and the way you guys described Jo's reaction to it upon running in and seeing him for the first time. I like how, even though she's a nurse, you guys still touched upon the fact that she can equally be affected from the status of a patient like the rest of us. I could SEE her, placing her hand over her mouth and shaking her head, like she didn't know how she'd be able to do this. And, of course, LOVE the relation to the Humpty Dumpty nursery rhyme, that was PERFECT!!

But, for now, I'm glad Howard is on the mend and I can't wait to go on to the next chapter! ^_^ (See Rose, I TOLD YOU I was reading it! :P Now what, suckkah?!? :P)

Author's Response: Wow, I think this is the longest review we've ever gotten! You rock, Reb! LOL I would really like to know the Boys' blood types, too, because I've had to guess in several fanfics, and I make it something different every time. I've gotta be right one of these times! It's flattering to be compared to The Walking Dead, cause that show is epic, but I know what you mean; sometimes we watch and go, "OMG, that is so Undead!!" But we've borrowed ideas from zombie movies and books, so ya know, everyone just kinda recycles the classic zombie ideas LOL. Thanks for the compliments about this chapter; glad you liked it and are catching up! This is good motivation for me to do some writing this weekend, which I plan on!!
