So I posted my review in the last chapter before this one was posted...still SO depressing. They have to see each other again, they just have to. Damn Kevin. Although I am kind of excited that it's Nick and Kevin together in this part of the story, I just love those two together.lol
Author's Response: Hmm, but who knows if they will? Mwahaha lol. I love Kevin and Nick together too, so this will definitely be a chance for that. :)

WHAT? Ugh, how dare you guys leave it like that. Seriously, not cool. Why'd they have to go so quickly and he doesn't even know what the base in Colorado is going to be like...damn, I don't like this at all.
Author's Response: Hey, you're in luck... Rose just added the next chapter! :) Thanks for reading and reviewing!!

So they are leaving the base. Had to laugh at the zombies on a plane mention. I saw Rose tweet about it...it amused me. Something tells me that they are gonna find more zombies wherever they land....leaving the base is a bad idea. Its cute how Riley won't let Nick go without her, I like that connection. Awesome chapter, and the update came just in time for me to read while on break! Happy Halloween!
Author's Response: LOL thanks! It worked in perfectly! We're actually gonna post the next chapter in a few, so you shall see, but yeah... you know us... nothing's ever easy. ;) Thanks for reading and reviewing, as always! You're quick! LOL

I'm really loving brave, kick-butt Brian! He's who I want to be around if zombies ever start attacking.
Author's Response: LOL Brian is so fun to write in this story! I love emo, ass-kicking Brian too! Thanks!!

Ahh... I knew the bite would turn them to zombies! That's a rough way to go. lol
Author's Response: Yes, yes it is LOL. Thanks for the review!

I was in Barnes and Noble the other day in line for a booksigning, and they had a calender where you create your own zombies. This story was the first thing I thought of. :)
I'd started it before- I think I'd read the first chaper at least twice, but I was always interrupted by a phone call or something. I'm really glad that I finally started reading it. I was only going to read a few chapers, but I got into it Wednesday night and then Thursday morning when I should've been writing a paper. Haha. The Internal Friday was a great use of foreshadowing. Then this chapter... Wow! I knew it was about zombies, but when Leighanne was suddenly looking at Brian?? It still had a great effect. Great job writing this.
Author's Response: Aww, thanks so much, Erin! It's always really cool to hear that people have started reading it when it's this far along and enjoyed it enough to keep reading. Glad you got into it! We did spend a lot of time trying to build the suspense; I'm glad it was still effective, even though you obviously knew it was a story about zombies. Btw, that calendar sounds awesome! I was at Barnes & Noble the other day and saw several zombie books and games they had out for Halloween, but I didn't see that... I'll have to look again when I have more time; I was on a mission for something else, so I didn't get a chance to stop and look much. Anyway, thanks again for reading and reviewing!!

Wow, congrats on the first main character kill. I was begining to think you weren't gonna do it, what with the last minute Howie save last chapter. I find myself in a hard spot reading this story because any good zombie story has all but a couple survivors if any at all but I don't want everyone in this story to die. I'm sure this has gone through your own heads. Anyway nice death scene, very well done. You guys have done an amazing job with this story, it's probably my favorite at the moment.
Author's Response: Thank you!! Yep, we'd been planning to kill Kayleigh for quite awhile; we just wanted to lead up to it... like, first we killed Spunky (Nick's dog), then we had AJ get bitten, then we had Howie almost die, and then we finally killed a character. She was the first, but she won't be the last. That said, we did a lot of killing early on with the minor characters, their family's and so on, so we wanted to keep our group of ten together for awhile, since they are like the ONLY known survivors at this point. But you're right; it wouldn't be realistic if they all survived the whole thing, zombie attacks and so on, and we wanted to make it clear to them and to the readers that the zombies are still a threat; even if they can't infect them, they can still kill them. I'm glad you're still loving the story; thanks so much for the feedback!!

Sorry I didn't review last night, I read this at work even though I'm not supposed to use my phone! Just reread the chapter, and OMFG this made me cry so much reading it!!!! Poor Kayleigh....even though she was not one of my favorite characters, I was still sad for her. They should have known that the zombies would eventually find their way out of the water. I liked the birthday party scene and Nick calling Jo J-lo was cute lol. I bawled when I read the part about Kayleigh....they should have known better than to leave their guns behind....amazing chapter can't wait for more! Glad they are giving her a proper funeral and Brian is starting to accept God again.
Author's Response: LOL no problem, Tracy! Aww, did it really make you cry? That is awesome... that's the biggest compliment ever for a chapter like this! Glad it was emotional. Thank you so much!!

OMG!!! You made me cry with this chapter!!
Author's Response: Aww, really? Thank you!! That's the biggest compliment you could give for a chapter like this. =D

Oh no!!! Poor Kayleigh. That chapter was so good, I was on the edge of my seat reading it and didn't actually think the zombies would get her. I'm glad Brian took her back to the base though and that they are giving her a proper funeral.
Author's Response: Thanks Steph!! We wanted to make it clear that no one is safe; we're not afraid to kill characters. Kayleigh is the first of the ten, but won't be the last... mwahaha! LOL Thanks so much for the review; glad you liked the chapter!

Damn...that was intense. I couldn't even get through reading the whole description of her death because that was so intense. How sad. Wow, if ya'll kill one of the guys off I will lose it though, so let's not let that happen, kay? Thanks. lol
Author's Response: Thank you! LOL We make no promises... ;) But thanks for the review!

Wow. What a great chap. Love the scripture at the beginning. I'm surprised that she was killed off but I felt like one of them would probably die at some point...actually, I thought it might be Howie last chap. lol. It was really sad the way it happened and I wonder if Brian is feeling guilty. Not that it's his fault. I love how everyone's feelings were described. And I love how throughout the entire story, ya'll kept the guys in character while it being an AU.
What a scary scene to picture the zombies in the water. That's some scary shit! I'm glad that Brian finally told them about being a minister and I hope that he can be more in tune with those feelings. Poor thing...I feel for all of them but ya'll are killing me with poor Brian :(
Can't wait to read more!
Author's Response: Thanks Sel! LOL we wanted to go for the shock... Howie would have been too easy. ;) Thanks for your compliment on the characters! That's the fun challenge of an AU, I think, trying to keep the boys themselves even though they're not "The Backstreet Boys." I thought zombies in the water were scary too... I was picturing that scene from the first Pirates of the Caribbean, where the cursed pirates are walking underwater. Creepy. Thanks so much; I'm glad you liked it!

:( Okay... not ashamed to admit that I shed many tears over this chapter! I wasn't a huge Kayleigh fan but dang... didn't want to see her die! Didn't want to see any of them die. Good twist though, definitely did not see it coming!
Author's Response: Aww, did you really? Love it! I take that as a huge compliment, so thank you!! We wanted to kill somebody off at some point to show that the zombies are still a threat, even if they can't infect them with a bite. Didn't want them feeling too safe or anything. ;) Glad you liked the twist, and we appreciate your review! Thanks, Rachel! :)

Kayleigh... :( Great twist and chapter. How sad. Interesting about Brian's faith waxing and waning, I think all Christians have their doubts at some point in their walk with God, I know I do. Can't wait for more.
Author's Response: Thanks! I do think even the most devout Christians might question their faith if they were put through what he has been. But when it came down to it, praying was the only thing he could do for Kayleigh, so he did what he knew to do. Glad you liked the chapter - thanks for the review!
Date: 10/18/10 12:37 am Title: Chapter 70
WOW. I didn't think you guys would kill one of the characters off! As annoying as she might have been, I feel bad that Kayleigh died and in the way that she died. *sniff* But Brian's faith is returning to solid ground, so that's good. Seriously, that was an INTENSE chapter. Goooooo, Double Rainbow!
Author's Response: Thanks, Sarah!! We've had this planned for quite awhile, but we were hoping it would be shocking to the readers. We just didn't want our characters getting too comfortable, now that they think they're all immune to the zombie virus. The zombies may not be able to infect them with their bite, but they can still eat their braaaains! They're still a threat. But yes, Brian's crisis of faith is starting to resolve, so good news for him. Glad you enjoyed the chapter! It was fun to write!
