So...I was all, okie dokie. So Howie just blacked out, no big deal. I'm sure someone shot the zombie and Howie will be fine. And then I remembered HOWIE'S A GODDAMN HEMOPHILIAC!! He's gonna bleed to death...unless *dun dun dun* there's something miraculous about him since the zombie apocalypse and he won't actually bleed out. IDK, just a wild guess.
Seriously guys. How long are your zombies able to live without turning into writhing masses of maggots and falling apart? :P

Anyway, awesome chapter! It's even better now that I've watched Zombieland and can appreciate this story even more! Just a question, though, why don't they try getting in one of those big military trucks, load everything up, and try going out to find what else is out there? You know, move out of the base? I guess they just don't want to leave the safety of the base...which is not so safe, but safer than the rest of the world.

Author's Response: Aww... well, I can appreciate the sappiness! ;) And good question... hold that thought for a few more chapters. ;) But yeah, they finally got the base (mostly) cleared out, so they're taking advantage of their relative safety for now. Author's Response: Yeah, it makes sense - they don't have the coordination to swim, but they also don't need oxygen, so they could just wander around on the bottom, like the cursed pirates in Pirates of the Caribbean. Creepy! Glad you liked the chapter! Thanks, Steph! :)

Holy shit! Well that started all nice and fun. Guess I should have known better. That chap was so creepy. And well, I'm terrified of deep water and now it'll be even worse as I picture zombies under there! Lol. I love the way Gretchen thinks about and describes Brian, especially the tattoos. You're such a great writer! (Not sure who wrote this one but well, that goes for both of you!) It makes me sad that Riley is still waiting for her husband, I mean...I'm assuming he's a zombie as well...

Amazing chapter. The description of Brian turned me on a bit he he. It seems like Gretchen likes him but she is afraid she will forget about her husband. Poor Nick and the fear of sharks. I never understood why he has a tattoo of one if he is afraid. I knew as soon as they went in the ocean they might run into zombies. I think I have been reading the survival guide too much lol. Awesome chapter ladies

I'm still loving this story :O) The characters get more likeable with each chapter -- and not just more likeable, but more believable as characters who would actually exist in this type of world.
I saw a preview for "Walking Dead" on Youtube earlier and immediately thought of Song for the Undead... which is saying a lot about your story, that it's the first place my mind went. I really do think this story would make an awesome movie!
Oh and PS -- I had kind of been hoping that Gretchen would end up pregnant since she, ya know, slept with her husband the night before the virus struck... but alas... le sigh... wink wink, hint hint.... :O)
