I love Broken and I love this one. I think I have gone a little further in this one but reading it now, I still feel like I am reading it almost for the first time. You have grown a lot as a writer and remain one of my favorites.

Author's Response: Thanks so much! The emotional part isn't always easy cause it's not like I've experienced most of the stuff I write about, but I try to just put myself in the characters' shoes and imagine what they'd feel.

So in an effort to avoid writing my own story I just sat down and read this again from 1-90. That's right, one sitting. :P there were things I either didn't notice or that I'd forgotten from my first time through and it was nice to experience it all again. The not so nice experience was forgetting that I would be a blubbering hot mess at the end of it all but I have no regrets. Thanks for a great second read!

Great job overall with this story, Julie. I'll save all my thoughts for the survey but I think you ended it perfectly with the camp opening up and of course having Nick's son too. I loved that mason was babysitting as well lol Really well done!

It was fun to wake up to a review every morning this summer! :) This would be one of my classic "big shiny bow" endings, but I'm glad you liked it. For such a sad story, I wanted at least a bittersweet ending, and that is why I made it so Cary could have Nick's baby, because it just made me feel a little better about the whole thing. It was important that the non-crazy Carter genes continued on in the world without Nick LOL. Thanks again for this review and all the others! :)
