I don't know if you have read the Author's Note I posted, but I have decided to take a bit of a hiatus from my writing, so I won't be updating this for a while. I don't know how long of a hiatus I plan on taking, but hopefully it won't be a permanent hiatus. Please read the rest of the chaps that are posted and leave reviews. It seems like Brian is the one wanting to put forth the most effort into their relationship.
Does Nick's GF being pg have a huge influence on why Nick got the idea to go on this trip?
Author's Response: Brian and Nick both are hesitant about putting any effort into their relationship, yet at the same time want more then anything to patch it up. Only problem is they have the same difficulties expressing it due to the time and distance that has caused them to grow apart. Oh, and no, Ashlyn being pregnant had no influence what so ever on Nick getting the idea of taking the boat trip. [Ashley]

It took me a few tries to understand the beginning of the story, but I love the emotional intensity and depth of the characters.

Author's Response: Well, I'm glad you think the chap turned out ok. I wasn't sure if I was too satisfied with how it all worked out. I mean, I'm happy with the content of the chap, but I wasn't sure if there was enough to it. I do agree that Brian's reaction was a bit understandable. I know it would come as a shock to hear that Nick was going to be a father. Anywho, glad you enjoyed the chap. I'm hoping to get started on Ch.4 (possibly tonight) and have it posted soon. I've been suffering such writers block for the past like year and a half, but now it seems like I am on a roll. I want to keep the roll going. That was kind of a crude way to put things in perspective for Nick. Is the kid yours? You'd think Mr. Bible Boy would have more tact when it came to uncomfortable situations. And who's to say that the baby is a bad thing? Why is pregnancy always frowned upon initially? All we talk about in Nursing anymore is abortion and Lord knows I won't be participating.

Author's Response: Wohoo! 4 reviews for Ch.2 so far! I'm feeling great. Kinda gives me a boost of inspiration for the next chap. You worry so much about your writer's block. But when a chapter finally comes along, it's perfected into the neatest of slices. Brian and Nick have always been the dynamic duo. To cause a ripple in their friendship provides great drama. You simply see them as two giant kids enjoying one another. Adult situations don't seem to phase them. Until this fiction. To see that their both growing apart is easy to comprehend. Brian with his family. Nick with his less than adorable stunts with the law and need to define himself. Reminds me of other things that you probably didn't intend on projecting, but they're there nonetheless.

I just figured it would be refreshing to cause a ripple in Brian and Nick's friendship. It don't happen often and it is rather realistic I believe, so I figured what the hey.
