I was sat next to my best friend Charlie listening to Miss Beattie drone on about how important punctuality is in school when there was a knock at the door and Mr Lindsay walked in.
'Sorry to interrupt you Miss Beattie but we have a new student being put in your class, his name is Donnie Wahlberg,' Mr Lindsay moved aside to let a tall brown haired boy into the room. I looked around the room the only free desk was in front of mine and Charlie's.
'Hello Donald, why don't you sit here in front of Jennifer' I watched as he manoeuvred his way across the classroom and sat down, once Mr Lindsay had left he turned around and held his hand out to me.
'Hi I'm Donnie,' His Chocolatey eyes twinkled as his lips curled up into a smile.
'Jen' I answered taking his hand and shaking it.
'Jennifer from looking at Donald's timetable I can see you have the same lessons can you be his guide for the first week, thank you' Miss Beattie placed Donnie's timetable on his desk and walked back to the front of the room.
The bell rang and Donnie waited as I grabbed my bag and led him out of the room. We had food tech first so I headed out the door and across the courtyard to the technology building.
'Hey wait up' I turned around to see Donnie running to catch up 'What's the rush? I thought we could talk more on the way to lesson'
'Sorry,' I slowed my pace 'So what you wanna talk about' I looked at him fiddled with the strap of his bag.
'I was just wondering what you do for fun around here, I haven't seen anything' Donnie held open the door to the technology building for me.
'That's cos there isn't anything apart from the cinema. We normally just hangout at each other's houses after school, in fact why don't you come along today everyone's coming round mine to celebrate the first day back it'll be fun.' I sat down at the desk pulling out my stuff.
'Sounds good' Donnie sat down next to me and copied down the date and title.

'So is there going to be any drink at the party' Donnie asked. School had finished and he was walking over to my house to help set up.
'Yes but only for my older brothers' friends I mean come on do you think my mum's gonna let a bunch of 13 year olds drink.' I laughed as we turned down my street.
'I guess not, hey this is my street I live there' He pointed at the house next door to mine.
'Oh so your who's just moved in and insists on playing Madness at every waking hour of the day.' He laughed.
'Hey it's gotta be better than the stuff next door plays I mean come on Take That bleugh' He shook himself and noticed what house we were walking into 'Oh crap, way to go Wahlberg, just insult the girl's musical tastes, great, sorry' I laughed
'Don't worry I only play it to annoy my brother's they think of themselves as the group version of Elvis which they are but don't tell them that.'
'Aww cool do they have a name'
'No, not yet they can't find one that fits' I dropped my bag on the floor of my room and fell back onto the bed.
'This feels weird I've barely known you a day and I'm already in your room' Donnie had sat on the edge of my bed looking around my room. He jumped up when Mikey barged through the door.
'Hey Jen, what time did you tell everyone to get here for?' Mikey didn't even notice Donnie until he cleared his throat.
'Um, hi I'm Donnie' He nervously held out his hand which Mikey high-fived.
'Yo dude, how's it going? I'm Mikey one of the big brothers.' I stood up and walked over to Mikey and sniffed him. 'Hey Jen, what are you a dog? Normal people don't sniff other people to say hi.'
'I'm not saying hi, I was just wondering where my crazy brother was, now I know, he won't be back for a while, he's stoned' I shook my head 'Come on Donnie lets go sort some music out' I walked out the room and heard Donnie following me.
