I was in my bedroom packing my clothes with Cannoli at my side. I heard a knock on my bedroom door. I turned to see my mother standing there smiling with her arms crossed. My mother was a lovely woman. She was my height or maybe an inch shorter. She was heavyset, but dressed well for her body type. She had salt & pepper hair up to her chin, almond shape blue eyes, full lips like my own. I loved my mom, but my parents in fact.
"Hi Mom" I said smiling
"I see you packing, Reg. Are you excited?" Mom asked as she picked up Cannoli and smothered her with kisses.
"I guess, I am. I need to have more of a life." I responded
"I think this will be good for you, Reg. You'll have fun! You'll get a nice, little break from work. Your dad and I will take care of Cannoli, and you'll be able to put that douche lord behind you." Mom said nonchalantly
"MOM?!!!!!" I shouted almost laughing
"What? It's true. Roger lost the best thing that ever happened to him. Watch and see, a few months you will be a different woman." Mom said
"I hope so, Mom" I nodded
"You'll see. Have fun, honey. Do everything I wouldn't do." Mom said as she kissed my forehead. Mom left my room, and the basement and took Cannoli with her.
I hope in a few months Roger will be the thing of the past.
