A penny in a wishing well
Wishing on a star.
Blowing out a cake's candle
Hasn't worked so far.
Wishing for you to come to me
I feel won't ever come true.
I gave up finally
On ever having you.
But this feeling of emptiness
Without you by my side.
My heart is filled with sadness
On feelings I can't hide.

There's so much I can't say when I look into your eyes
I'm worried you'll reject me and hurt my foolish pride
Each day this love groes stronger, but I can't let you know
There's so much behind my smile that I can never show
I'd hold you for a lifetime if you would let me in
I'd love you like no other, but you don't understand
Each time that I see you, you are holding on to her
The pain is like a knife, cutting deep inside my soul
So I'll dream of us together, of how it could be
And all that you are, will remain a silent part of me.
