She hung up the phone quickly as she heard Luisa’s voice. She missed her nana; Luisa was the best nana she could have ever had. Did her father know about the accident but, refused to speak or accept her back? Most likely that was it. She looked around the busy Seven Eleven as she dialed into the payphone one more time. She was doing great till she heard the raspy voice on the other side of the phone speak. She had to struggle with herself to answer back to him. “AJ, it’s me Rose is it ok to go back?”

“Hey, Rose yeah of course. I’ll see you here ok, I have to go I was just about to go into the shower.” He hung up and headed for his room.

She hung up the phone, smiling she left the store and started jogging back to the house. There was definitely something wrong with her, but she felt like it was ok to feel like she did. She wanted to feel guilty all the time but, she couldn’t Rony was now dead for almost three months; there was nothing wrong with thinking her roommate was hot right? She shook her head and again reminded herself that AJ had a girlfriend. She made it to the house in less time because she had run and jogged all the way home. The security people already knew her and just let her into the community of houses.

She quickly drank the cold clear liquid she held in her hand. That’s when she noticed a very clean AJ come into the kitchen dressed casually. “Hey you look good,” she said as she looked at him.

“Thanks, so how was your walk?” he sat on a stool as he grabbed a banana from a fruit basket. He was about to ask her something more when he heard the doorbell, he was about to get up when he heard Rose say she would get it. “Thanks, its Nick you remember him right?”

“Yeah,” said Rose as she walked out the kitchen and left to answer the door. She cleared her throat and opened the door and almost lost her breath when she saw AJ’s girlfriend standing there. “Hi,” she said in a small whisper as she saw the look on her face.

“I’m sorry and who are you?” she did not want to sound rude but, why was she there. AJ wouldn’t do this again would he? She took a deep breath and asked for AJ.

“Just one second let me go get him.” She knew she was blushing with a embarrassment, she was gorgeous no wonder AJ was so close to marrying her and had not forgotten her after their split. She bumped into AJ and slowly whispered, “It wasn’t Nick, it’s your girlfriend.”

“Shit, Shit, Shit,” said AJ as he ran his hand through his hair. “I didn’t tell her yet, shoot ok, I can handle this.” With that he walked toward the living room where an impatient Sarah stood.

“Hey,” said AJ as he went to hug his girlfriend. “I thought we were going to meet at the restaurant.”

“Yeah we were but, I forgot my phone in your room so I came back to get it.” She told him with a questionable face. She wanted an explanation right away. Who was that girl and why was she in this house with her boyfriend.

“Well I am glad you’re here, I want you to meet someone.” He turned and called out to Rose. He smiled at the shy Rose that approached them. “Sarah this is Rose Casares, the groups new planner, Rose, this is my girlfriend Sarah.”

She smiled and went along with what AJ told Sarah. Why was he lying? What group was he talking about? She knew he worked in the entertainment business, was he in a group? She felt deception inside, but she realized she shouldn’t after all she was nothing more to AJ than a stranger he helped out and now called her his friend. Friends, that was all she was to him, she shook Sarah’s hand and returned her attention to AJ and what he was going to say next.

“Sorry, I didn’t tell you till now Rose about the job, but I found out last night and well I couldn’t tell you then. See Sarah, Rose has been my roommate since she got out of the hospital. Let me tell you how I met Rose, a good friend of mine now….”

She sighed heavily as she sat on the leather couch in the lobby. Today she was going to meet the rest of the group, the rest of the Backstreet boys. She was nervous and she felt nauseous, she had read a lot of articles on them in the internet about their success, so she had the right to feel so nervous. She was more of an eighties girl, so she blamed that to her not knowing them.

She had just come back from Texas, where she gave Rony’s family the bad news. She had considered keeping her husbands ashes, but after seeing how devastating the news was for his parents she agreed that it was better for them to have them. This was no time to think about Rony, she was about to have a job interview with a famous group, it would not be good idea to be crying. She cleared her mind and tried to remember AJ’s suggestions regarding each guy. Just then the door opened and out came AJ.

“Ok, come on they are ready to meet you.” He smiled at her as she made her way toward the room.

Shyly she greeted the other three men in the room; at least she knew one of them. She smiled at Nick, as she shook his hand. Boy did he have some intense eyes; she felt a little flushed as he gave her a smile. She had to admit the few times she had been with Nick she was always laughing, he made her laugh and forget how lonely she felt. She looked away from him, so he wouldn’t freak out or think anything out of it. She didn’t like him like that right? Nope. She answered to herself when she heard the voice that made her stomach fill with butterflies. She shook away the feeling she was having and concentrated on what AJ was telling the other men.

“Ok, so we thought it was only fair that we all meet you and get to know you as well as these two have,” said a sweet Howie.

“Relax we wont bite, well maybe Nick,” said Brian as he looked at her. She looked sweet and after hearing her story from AJ, she had his respect. Something told him Nick was getting a little too infatuated with her. He definitely was feeling something more than friendship for her.

They were exactly like AJ had described them. “Someone is missing though right?” she turned to face AJ questioningly.

“Yeah, Kevin he couldn’t make it his flight got delayed so he is still in New York. But, your not missing our on anything he is so boring, take it from me, I am his cousin. Just kidding he is awesome guy,” he said after he saw the look on her face. He looked at Nick just as he tried to look somewhere else; he smiled and made a note to himself to talk to Nick later.

“I don’t know about all of you but I am hungry!” said Nick as he walked to the door. “Even I would have preferred Pizza.”

The rest of the guys just laughed and AJ explained it to Rose….
