"Calm down, honey," Leighanne patted her husband on his arm, trying her best to comfort
him.

Brian frowned, shaking his head "I knew it was a bad idea, I knew it. Bruce should have
let Nick stay at the hotel, now he is gonna make an ass of himself and that is the last thing
he needs." He sighed deeply, expecting the worst to happen.

The couple was standing outside the enterance of the building, waiting for Nick to get out
of the Limo, which was easier said than done. Curious people had been gathering,
interested in watching why someone was taking close to five minutes to exit a stopped
vehicle

"Come on Nick, watch your head, okay, one more step, thats it," Kevin was giving
guiding directions, trying hard to keep his patience in check with the giggling figure
infront of him.

"Aye Aye Captain," Nick made a sloppy, uncoordinated salute, grinning widely. Kevin
was ready to blow a fuse.

"Knock it off," AJ said, his patience growing more agitated, grabbing Nicks waist,
steadying him against the car door. The blonde’s legs gave out and AJ and Kevin had to
take a firmer grip from keeping Nick from falling on the street.

"Ouch..Ajeee you’re tickling me," he giggled in that high pitched voice that had AJ
wondering more than one time if Nick had done a sex change.

Drop dead, was written all over AJ´s face. Nick stopped for a moment, seriously,
concentrating hard to stay still. When he was conscious enough, the three men walked
towards the entrance.

Inside the building Howie was waiting for the rest of the guys. He had warned Bruce
about Nick´s state and the PR manager was very displeased with the situation, to put it
midly.

Bruce was standing talking to one of his most important sponsors, the host for the dinner,
waiting for the boys to arrive.

Howie glanced nervously at the door, knowing that the second they made an enterance
there were no telling what would happen. In the shape that Nick was in he could do
almost anything from being polite and well mannered to a total asshole.

The glass doors opened and the rest of the group walked in with their escorts. Kevin and
AJ walking close by Nick, who was laughing out loud, talking to everyone in sight.
Including the press people.

"Waaass up?" Nick shouted, shaking everyones hand, the Japanese guests looking at him,
shocked. He belched loudly.

"Jeeze, Nick, what did you drink?" Brian asked, fanning a hand in front of his face, trying
to fend off the foul air. " It smells like cough syrup!"

"Jeagermeister," Nick said proudly, "You should try it Bri, it´s gonna clear those nasty
sinuses that you have, blowing snot all over the place." AJ wrinkled his nose in disgust,
looking like he was about to throw up.

AJ was a strange man, Nick pondered. He had nothing agaist blood and puke, but snot
and phlegm made him wanna hurl. In fact he had claimed that he had never blow his nose.
Poor Sarah she would have to live with a snotty man in bed. Yuck.

Kevin, red in the face, tried to get Nick out of the way but Nick was set to do otherwise.

"Behave," he whispered into Nick’s ear.

"Yeah..yeah..chill out, man" Nick murmured, offended, not understanding why everybody
was on his case. All he had done was have some drinks, have some fun. Hell, he´d even
cured his own cold. They should be proud of him, not moping about like he´d done
something wrong. Even Brian was upset with him.

Looking through his bangs, he saw that all the guests were either staring or talking about
him like he was some kind of freak. They were very serious, formal. It reminded him of
mummies or even better, zombies.

I better do something about this, he decided. After all it was suppose to be a party not
some boring funeral. With that in mind, Nick set up to fullfill his task.

"This is the backstreet boys," Bruce introduced to the host, putting on his most
sickly-sweet smile. After presenting each of the members to the man, the host for the
evening Mr Kyiko and his lovely wife, Nick was next.Mr Kyiko was an eldely and very
powerful man and he was the president of Japan’s biggest electronics companies.

" Hello," Nick said, trying hard to behave. But it was like a little devil was sitting on his
shoulder, reminding him of his promise to make the party cheerful."And this must be your
lovely wife," he stated. The rest of the boys eyes following him, watching every
step, waiting for what would come next.

Brian jerked his friends arm, "Come on Nick." Brian got an ignored and unappreciative
look from Bruce.

Nick bent down, picking up the hostess hand, kissing it, smiling. Bruce breathed from
relief. This wasn´t so bad. Brian on the other hand, watched Nick, nervously. ‘Oh no, he
was going to make an ass of himself!’ Brian almost stopped breathing. But nothing
happened.

Nick was as sweet and professional as always. The couple smiled as the young American
kissed the woman’s hand. When he had finished, Nick stood up and whispered into the
host’s ear, “and she´s got an nice ass too.”

Mr Kyiko, all red in his face, said something harsh in Japanese both to Nick and to the
surprised Bruce. He then grabbed his wife by her arm, walking away quickly.

Bruce, white in the face, voice shaking from anger, asked, "Nick, what did you say to
him?"

"Oh nothing..I just said that his wife had an nice ass!" Nick grinned widely.

"WHAT???" Bruce shouted, getting calmed down by AJ.

"Relax, I´ll take care of him, get him cooled down." With that, Nick was grabbed by his
arm and literally dragged towards the restroom.

Bruce and Kevin rushed off after Mr Kyiko, trying to save the situation.

Inside the restroom AJ pushed Nick against the wall. "Now you fucking listen to me. I
know that you are so screwed up right now, but that gives you no right to behave like a
jackass. After we leave this restroom you´re gonna walk right up to Mr Kyoki and his wife
and appologize. Understand?" AJ shouted, his hand around Nick´s collar.

"Yeah, man, calm down," Nick mumbled, trying to get out of the situation.

"No YOU fucking calm down or I´m gonna kick your ass so much that you can´t sit for
days. Listen these people are important to us and I´m not gonna watch while you screw
everyone around!"

"Ouch, it hurts," Nick was trying to get out of AJ´s grip. The hand twisting around the
collar, was making it hard to breathe. The swelling in his neck hurt even more.

AJ let go of his grip. "Ok," he said in a less tempered voice "Now, rinse off your face with
some water," he urged calmly.

Nick did as he said, then grabbing the paper towel AJ handed to him. Looking at the
mirror he noticed in his hazed state that his neck seemed twice as big. No wonder that his
collar had felt so tight. Shaking his head he decided that it was the booze talking to him
and that he probably needed another drink. He was really thirsty.

"All right man, are you ready?" AJ asked the quiet man. It looked like the most intoxicated
state was over. Nick nodded. Both the men walked out from the restroom.

What AJ didn´t know that Nick was no where ready. He was still set to make this boring
dinner into a memory long forgotten. Setting his pace towards the drinks and beverages.
