Chapter 27

Riley sat next to Leigh and held her hand in a death grip, scared as all the fans started filing in. A few glanced over at them, but not many.
The majority were focused on AJ, who was on stage messing about with the band.
"Your ok sweetie. Relax."
She turned to Leigh and smiled nervously but kept ahold of her hand, needing the reasurance that she was there.

Once all the fans were in the arena for soundcheck Riley relaxed a little, seeing that the majority of them were harmless and more interested in the stage then them sitting there. A few had noticed, and a fan that Leigh seemed to had known came over to say hi, but appart from that nothing.

Suddenly the fans started screaming and Riley looked up, seeing Brian and Howie on the stage with AJ. They started talking to the crowd of fans, but before the fans could ask where Nick was the band started playing the song Lollipop, making Riley think back to the other night when Nick shook his ass to it. She chuckled to herself but then snorted when Nick came skipping out on stage wearing a dress, but not just any dress.
"Oh my god thats my dress!" Riley hissed, making Leigh laugh.
"Your kidding me?"
Riley looked at her and shook her head. "Thats mine! Im gonna kill him!" She looked back up the stage as Nick stood by his mic dancing like a girl.

Riley stood up and shook her head when Nick grinned as he looked over at her. “Did you steal my underwear too?” She mouthed at him and Leigh started laughing loudly along with a few of the fans.

Nick pretended to pull the dress up but then moved it back down with a smirk as he raised his eyebrow at Riley. A blonde guy who looked to be her age who she hadn’t caught the name of yet walked over to her with a microphone. He had a sly smile on his face and Riley couldn’t help but laugh.
“Has Nick stolen your dress?” the guy asked her speaking into the microphone so the entire arena could hear him.
Riley looked up at Nick smirking before she grabbed the microphone out of the guys hand.
“Oh, he does that all the time. You should see what he sleeps in. It’s pink and has all these laced edges. The bunny ears are a bit over the top but I guess he looks cute with them.” she said in a sly voice her eyes focused on Nick the entire time as she spoke.

"Damn she's given my secret away ladies!" Nick pretending to be offended and flicked his imaginary hair away from his face before skipping off the stage, making all the fans laugh.
Riley sat back down, realising that more than a few fans were looking at her now. She leant closer to Leigh. "I've just made everyone aware of me now, havent i?"
Leigh smiled before chuckling. "Welcome to my world sweetie."

Riley had gone back behind the stage once the soundcheck was over and was draped across a couch, reading a magazine and jumped when someone snatched the magazine from her hands before laying down ontop of her.
"Aaah theres my sexy as fuck girlfriend." Nick kissed her softly before smiling at her.
”Are you sure I don’t have to be the man in the relationship now? Considering?” Riley giggled and shifted underneath Nick to make herself comfortable.
“Ha ha ha…very funny.” he laughed sarcastically before kissing her again.
“If you stole my bra I’m pressing charges.” she smirked at him making him laugh even more.
“It was bad enough squeezing into your dress baby. Now do you plan on running from me?” he smirked at her then kissed her deeply making her moan.

“No, I’m just gonna call you Nickolette from now on and buy myself a dildo incase yours fall off or something.” Riley said loudly just as Brian walked in the room with a plate of food and a drink that he almost choked on hearing what Riley had said.
“I’ll uh come back later.” he said quickly but Riley pushed Nick off of herself and patted the spot next to her.
“Stay Brian. I was only teasing Nick after the stunt he pulled out there. Lunatic…”

Brian moved and sat next to Riley before looking at her and Nick. She was sat back against Nick's chest and both of them were looking at him.
"What?" Brian asked softly and smiled before sipping at his drink.
"Was just about to ask you the same thing Rok." Nick chuckled and brushed Riley's hair away from her neck before kissing it softly.
"Just thinking...you look happy Nick. Both of you cant wipe those smiles of your face. Its a nice change Nick. You really seem to be helping yourself. Im proud of you bro."

Riley felt Nick tighten his arms around her and it made her smile knowing he did that as a thank you to her. “Thanks man. Wouldn’t have been able to do it without Riles though. She keeps my mind off the bad stuff. I’m considering locking her up so she can’t leave next week or handcuff her to myself. Both really good options.”
Riley giggled at what Nick said but deep down she secretly wished that she could stay somehow. Only problem was she needed to go home in order to be able to pay her rent.
“Get Justin fired and hire her.” Brian said in a teasing tone confusing Riley.
“Who’s Justin?” She asked looking between them both.

"He's the guy who kinda runs our soundchecks." Brian answered.
"Oh, the blonde guy. Is he bad at his job then?" Riley asked, making Nick and Brian chuckle.
"Nah babe, Brian's just teasing. Would be cool if you worked with us though." He tightened his hold on her slightly, making her smile.
"I dont think that would be good though. We'd be together so much we'd probably get sick of each other."
Nick chuckled and moved his hands along her stomach. “Speak for yourself baby. I’d have eye candy all day which I really don’t mind.”

She could feel the fact that he was smirking against her neck.
The thought alone thrilled Riley, but she didn’t want to land a job purely because she was dating someone. It would never feel right for her to be hired that way.
“I could start wearing your clothes since you seem so comfortable in mine and cut my hair short. You wouldn’t want to look my way.” she grinned and leant herself more back against his chest loving the feeling of his arms around her.

“Give up Riley. You can’t win with Nick. He is about as stubborn as a goat and he has an answer for everything. What is it you do though? No offense but you seemed thrilled about the idea of a new job.” Brian was smiling at her as he spoke making her relax even more. She liked Brian. He seemed like the one out of them all that had his head screwed on the right way. At least most of the time.

"My job back at home sucks. I keep saying i want something new, but i can never find that something new." She shrugged and looked up at Nick.
"What if i could find you that something new?"
She shook her head. "No way Nick. I love you, and i would love to work and be around you, but if im getting a job its because i got it, not anyone else." She gave him a smile. "I appriciate the thought though babe."
Nick looked over at Brian, who nodded and smiled at Nick before standing up. "Well I'm done with this, Ill see you all before the show."

Nick couldn’t help but grin as wide as his mouth would go at what Riley had said. Sure he was dying to keep her around and beg for someone to give her a job, but she had a mind of her own and wasn’t gonna let anything be handed to her which he loved more than he realized.
“Can I hire you as my personal slaaave then baby?” he spoke huskily against her neck smirking when she shuddered.
“You can’t afford me baby.” Riley laughed at him and turned herself around in his arms.
He noticed how she had a slight frown on her face and turned her so she was looking at him. “What’s got you thinking so hard babe?” He asked her as his hand moved along her thigh slowly.

“Life. The more I’m here the more I don’t want to go back to my boring over crowded apartment and my smelly job. Everyone is reminding me that there are so many options out there, but I’d have to go back to school or something. Not that I really mind that. I actually love studying, but I’d never be able to study, work full time and still maintain a relationship with you. And jobs don’t exactly grow on trees if you don’t have an education.” she explained and Nick couldn’t help but kiss her when she finished speaking.

“First of all you need to find out what you want to do baby. At least in what field you want to work in. And I’d love for you to move in with me, but we can talk about that another day… As for school.. if you know what you want to do you can easily combine the two. Interships pay if you are in the right line of work. At least enough so you can get by. I can understand you don’t want to work close to me but if I can help with anything let me know. There’s no shame in having someone help you get where you want in life. It’s not like I got where I am on pure talent or luck. We had to meet the right people and charm our ways through some things even if we had what it took to get there we still had to bargain.”

Riley smiled and hugged herself to him, taking him off guard. He kissed the top of her head and smiled down at her when she looked up at him.
"Thanks baby. Ill think about it. But for now can we just snuggle. I need Nick cuddles."
Nick grinned and held her close. "That, i can definatly do baby."
