Author Biography

I am a Certified Public Accountant from Manila, Philippines. I am married and mother of 2 naughty but cute boys. I've been officially a BSB fan the day I saw I want it that way video and was mesmerized by Brian's smile. I am an AJ's girl though.... (See my penname) :)

I've wanted to be a writer for the longest time but I started to write fan fiction in 2009. I stumbled upon the world of fan fiction in 2007, and when I learned that there are sites (like AC) who are hosting stories; I tried to write one, and 'Back to your heart' was born.

Please bear with me for the grammar and punctuation mistakes. English is not my native (first) language but rest assured that I am trying my best everytime I write.

Awww Mare, I should have checked AC sooner. I was planning to check tomorrow to see if you've updated. Thanks to my gut feel, while I'm in the middle of wrapping up the decors for my don's 1st birthday tomorrow, I'd thought of checking AC's most recent page. :)

What can I say? Nick lived... Which is good, actually. The boys' lives will be changed forever if he died. It was actually hard for them to see him in his condition, what more if he died.

I'm glad AJ is sober. It is very realistic for him to turn to alcohol again. The trauma he felt was too much for him to handle. I'm glad Brian is working things out with a spiritual advisor. I'm glad Kevin accepted his fate if it meant Nick will be alive. I'm glad Howie is trying to be the old sweet D again and working it out with his wife. I'm glad that Nick is alive. I hope you know how glad I am with the ending of this story. ;)

Though many questions are left unanswered, this is still one if your best stories. Thank you, Mare. Thank you for this story. I hope I'd see your name again on the most recent page again with another story. :)

Author's Response: Thanks for reading this and giving such great feedback all the way through, Ritz. I didn't think I left all that many unanswered questions so sorry if you felt that way. I'm glad you were happy with the ending and I hope one day I'll have another story on the most recent page! :O)

Hey, Julie! First, I am sorry it took me so long to leave a review. As I've told KeepThisSecret, I only sneak personal internet time at work, so I usually don't log in when I visit AC.

To be honest, I almost wanted to stop reading when I learned Holden has AIDS. I can take hundreds of Cancer Nick anytime but not a baby with serious illness. But, the plot of this story is really good, and beautifully written, so I came back. I just hope Holden will not die.

Leigh's reaction is so real. As a mother, I know I would feel the same. It doesn't matter if my husband infected me, we can go through it together. But passing it on my baby is a serious matter. Leigh will need a lot of time away from Howie. And, I feel sad for Howie, too. No father would ever want to be on his place. I have a feeling, he was the one who committed suicide in the first chapter. But knowing you, Julie, we can never be sure. :)

*waiting for the next chapter*

Author's Response: Hey, Ritz! Thanks so much for the review! I didn't know you were reading this. I don't blame you for almost stopping when Holden got sick. That was hard to write because that is the one line I have always had - I don't hurt [real] BSB kids. In all honesty, I will just tell you I'm not planning to kill him. He was just a plot device for Howie to find out and feel this extreme guilt. I'm glad you found his and Leigh's reactions realistic. Thanks so much!!

Hello! My name is Ritz. I have something to admit that I am really guilty of... I have read A Dash of Cinnamon, really enjoyed the story, and it made my lunch time here in the office better, BUT, I did not leave a single review. I am really, really sorry for that. I just steal a few minutes of internet time here in the office during lunch break, as we are not allowed to use the internet for personal reasons. So, I check AC without signing in, so I could not leave a review. I meant to send you a message or e-mail, but when I get home and greeted by a grinning, energetic toddler, I forget everything that I should be doing. lol I promise that one day, I can send you an e-mail regarding a dash of cinnamon. :)

Now, I love this story! I love the suspense, I love the A-rok moments as I am an A-rok girl from the start, and I love how you write the scenes. You are now one of my favorite writers. But, can I hate you for a while because of the cliffhanger? lol

If you don't hear from me in the next chapters, rest assured I am still reading. I just cannot post a review. Even though, I really want to. :)

Author's Response: Hi, Ritz! Thanks so much for the lovely review. First, I am so thrilled that you have read and enjoyed A Dash of Cinnamon. Don't feel badly about not leaving a review. I know that there are several people out there who read and don't bother to comment. Although, I love it when people are able to leave some feedback!! I also have to sneak in personal Internet time at work, so I know how tricky it can be. I am a total ARock girl myself!! I absolutely adore their relationship!! It's good to know that you are still reading even if you are unable to comment. Finally, yes, it is okay if you hate me for the cliffy ... as long as you eventually forgive me!

The best non-dramatic (is that a term? lol) chapter yet! When I saw Nick’s name as the chapter’s title, I was like Yay! Nick is back. Then the first line “I think Brian is at our house.” I’ve actually read that in a tone like those of secret agents or involved in a forbidden organization or something, just like Shane West’s tone in the TV show Nikita. I honestly thought Nick was on his car or behind a tree hiding and doing a surveillance on his own home. Like he was pissed because Brian is at his house, and Brian would ruin his plan because he wouldn’t be able to get the secret microchip or black book or something very important he left at his house. See? I think I have thought of a whole chapter just by reading that one line, this is what you are doing to us. We speculate our own theories. lol Then when I continued reading their “dumb” or can also be referred to as they-doesn’t-know-Nick-was-supposed-to-be-dead kind of conversation, I laughed. I was like, really, Nick? It was all over the internet, the news, millions of girls couldn’t eat, sleep and go to work because they are depressed and mourning, and you don’t know you’re supposed to be dead? lol I love this chapter! I love Nick (But, dude, take easy on AJ, alright? I’m pretty sure he has no intentions to be part of Frick and Frack. lol) And I would surely love the drama that will develop in the next chapter. You did an excellent job! :)

Author's Response: I'm not sure if non-dramatic is an official term, but it sounds good to me! I thoroughly enjoyed your scenario about Nick being all secret agent-ish and scoping out his own house. I can totally see him crouching behind a tree and cursing Brian for showing up and ruining his plan. Perhaps you should take that idea and turn it into a full story. :) Your comment about millions of girls not being able to eat, sleep, and go to work had me laughing like crazy!! If this were to actually happen, I could totally see the fans taking their mourning to that extreme.

Mare, this is absolutely amazing! I really like the way you envision the guys. Absolutely heartwarming, tears of joy cannot be contained. lol

The way it presented was like watching the wedding, and getting into the heads of his big brothers. I love your backstory on why Nick supposedly hate Leighanne and why Brian kept his distance! Brilliant! You did not used the typical because Leighanne hated Nick and Brian just obeying his wife. lol

AJ, it is really possible that he would be hurt by Nick not asking him to be groomsman, and at first Nick's answer didn't make sense, but you look at it as a matured person, it's kind of heartbreaking. Was Ava really their flower girl or just part of this story?

Howie, I loved that he winked! lol Howie's line about Nick is a good person with or without Lauren and she just bring out the best in him was so sweet. If I was at home reading, that would have definitely made me cry.

Kevin, I love how he was a mess, just like a father. And I also believe that Nick now has a happy ending! 😊

Author's Response: Aw, thanks Ritz! I never really completely blame leighanne for the break up of their friendship. I'm pretty sure there were a lot of elements that went into it. I am pretty sure that Kevin was a mess & Howie really feels that way about Nick. And yes, Eva really was their flower girl.
