Did I say I'm random? Okay then.

I'm in my 20's, I love Code Red Mountain Dew...and my fave Backstreet Boys are Nick and Brian. I love them all though. Zombies are epic. Um...I think that covers it.

Oh...and Double Rainbow All The Way! hehe

Okay, NOW I'm done lmao.

I don't know why this was such a shock for her. I mean she did this for press and press she got. I don't know, I don't feel any sympathy for her at all. Because that's what she earned for being so manipulative.

Author's Response:

Ignorance is bliss - ha!  I think I wanted Quinn's manipulative behavior to come across more as a defense mechanism and a futile effort at protecting her relationship with Nick.  I can totally see why you took this the way you did!

It's good Quinn reached out to him. She needed to be the one who did it, since she's the one who screwed up.

Author's Response:

Ha...yes, Quinn screws up a lot and doesn't like to admit it.  One of her character flaws...I think some of the things you are finding annoying are these very things.  I didn't want her to be perfect...even though on the surface, she seems that way sometimes.

Wow, okay, honest standpoint, I feel like the story is starting to go from realistic romance drama and down into overdramatic a bit. I was feeling that way last chapter, but I wanted to read on just to see if it simmered down a bit. I get that Quinn's freaking out and nervous, but getting shitfaced cause she's going to see Nick again? Really? Especially when he was going to give everything another shot. And Riley letting her get shitfaced without really talking her out of it? This chapter kind of let a sour note for me, plot wise. I'm not trying to be mean, but I wanted to be honest. :)

Author's Response:

Honesty can be a tough thing to take but all of your points are valid - and you are telling me your thoughts in the most un-mean ways possible so I am thankful for that.  Quinn has issues, and she doesn't really handle things the right way sometimes.  I hope you are able to relate to her more as the story progresses.  I kind of intentionally made things about her unrelatable at first in an effort to try to show Nick's reaction/insecurity about things to her.  I guess I could have done it in a different way that came across better to the reader.  She definitely becomes more human in the coming chapters.

This is better, it's good they're going back to dating. It needed to happen because before their relationship had no real substance, I don't think. This'll help them really try to be together.

Author's Response:

I can tell you have definitely had moments of frustration with this story...the second half should be better for you.  There is some drama to come but I think you will like the fact that we really get passed the basis of the relationship being sex.  Thank you for sticking with it and your honest reviews...admittedly concrit can be a tough pill to swallow sometimes, but it is much easier to hear when a story is complete than when you are wrapped up in it!

So when things are finally looking up...(Nick is smart because now he has Quinn's undivided attention). Jake shows up. Hmm.

Author's Response:

Of course...after all, this is ROMANCE.  Aren't all loves a little star-crossed? :o)

Quinn better not distance herself now that Nick's said it. I mean she's clearly panicking but if she backs off because of that, then Nick deserves better. But hopefully she doesn't.

Author's Response:

Nick does deserve better...and Quinn genuinely wants to better.  I think you may start liking her more in the coming chapters...

One thing that drives me crazy about Quinn is that she's so incredibly defensive about her feelings. Courtney asks her about the obvious (and even Quinn's acknowledged to herself things are serious) and she immediately dismisses it as if it's nothing. I get that she's afraid of getting hurt but sometimes she's over the top about it.

Another thing, is Brian, he just bugs me in this story. He doesn't come off as a supportive friend, or even a concerned one. He comes off cynical and wanting nothing more than to be proven right. But I'm a huge Frick/Frack girl, so I would've put Brian in AJ's spot in this story lol.

Okay, Quinn is killing me here lol. It's like you have to take a risk at some point. I don't get how she can expect Nick to keep loving her if she can't even attempt to go for it. She dances around the word, she refuses to talk about it, it's just frustrating LOL.

It's about time Quinn's realizing it, admitting it, even if only in her column. (Though she still can't tell Nick, which makes me go back to wanting to throttle her).

While the story flows well and most of the time isn't too over the top, sometimes I find myself turned off. And I realized in this chapter why that was. I feel like at times your characters (generally speaking) come off too harsh. Brian comes off as a cynical asshole, Quinn is unrelatable and manipulative, Nick goes into the end of too sentimental, etc. You're a great writer, my biggest criticism (if one could call it that, this could also just be my own tastes coming into play again) is that your characters can come off as extreme in this. I'm really picky about characterization lol. And thinking about it, a lot of my comments go back to that.

I like that she just up and went after him. FINALLY she takes a huge risk to get what she wants. That's all I wanted from her, for her to really take the plunge and chase instead of Nick LOL. I like that she's asking to do the talking. Nick's been doing most of the relationship work here, so it's good to see Quinn taking charge. For her to want it to be something real.

And now I wanna beat Nick. He finally gets what he's been wanting and then he pulls a Quinn.

I like that you delved into Nick, having him reveal his issues. One thing I wish though, was rather than have the narrator sum up what he said - I wish it had been said in his dialogue. It would've been more emotional, I think.

I like that even though they're not married, they're together and happy. They deserved that. :) Good way to wrap it up.

Author's Response: Thanks for your honest feedback...glad it wasn't too painful!
